Description
A ship of legendary caliber.
Commissioned originally by the Republic at the height of the Clone Wars, many of these warships would actually see service during the war under Republic use for the last few months of the war. What would earn this class of warship it's galaxy-spanning renown however would be its service under the Galactic Empire, though officially retaining it's class name of Imperator, during the rule of the Empire the class would more commonly be known as the Imperial-class.

The Imperator class would later be separated into two separate subtypes, the I(1) and II(2) models. Though some outliers would exist such as the 7th Fleet's Imperial 1.5-class as they were known, the Imperator 1 would be the only version to serve during the Clone Wars. Armed with six heavy dual turbolasers and two heavy dual ion cannons, the 1 would be the most combat-oriented variant of the Imperator line. Due to this however, the Imperator 1 would begin being phased out around 18 years after the establishment of the Empire, with the remaining Imperators refitted into the Imperator 2 model, which had weaker octuple turbolasers and no heavy ion cannons, but a retooled interior to fit larger internal mission modules.
