Description "The bulk of the creature is pressed against the side of your house and this is all you can see through the window. It peers at you just before it oozes through the opening"

This was a fun one to do.
Its made from foam balls cut in half and glued to the canvas. The black gloopy stuff is liquid nails (5 tubes of the stuff). Then it was simply a matter of painting it with acrylics and being very liberal with gloss varnish to give it that nice wet and slimy look.

Another wonderful Lovecraftian piece. I love the seeming wet feeling of the skin. Well done.

Are you going to try and tell me that Coffee did this!?!...It's so creepy it's awesome.

It really would look very nifty behind cracked glass in a ratty old, paint peeling, borer riddled window frame...gods, I think I'm as bad as you are

Hahaha! Actually Im planing on doing one with an actual window frame and shutters. Just as derelict as you have described it but not of a shoggoth....something more......disturbing. But I still need to find the window frame and the shutters. Sort of a combination of illustration and found art

More disturbing...eek!?!

You know I've got an old window up in the shed I'm going to use sooner or later. It used to be in our house, I live in a relic! Damned thing is very heavy though. All farm houses have all sorts of stuff hidden away in them.

You can find some really neat old stuff at clearing sales (they're auctions) at very good prices. Or go visit 2nd hand shops, though their prices are a bit over the top at times, depends on where you go. Country ones are cheaper here. Even if you don't find what you're after it's fun looking and you get all sorts of ideas!!!...as if you're short of them.

Im never short of ideas just the momentum to do something with them
Im thinking of using the window from the shed that my landlords are going to tear down that lost its roof during a storm. Now all I need is some really crappy old shutters.

...momentum is rather hard to find here too

When you find a place where momentum is free flowing let me know. I will move there in a second!

Wow... that looks really really creepy. I expect, given that it's got a relief-sculpture aspect to it, that this looks extremely effective in real life. Imagine it lit with strongly directional, low-against-the-wall lighting in an otherwise dark as pitch room.
This isn't something I'd relish hanging on my wall, to be honest, but I find it extremely creative and I expect it was a ball to make. Sorry, I HAD to say that!

Good point! Roughly how large is this fellow by the way?

sorrowking In reply to AllicornUK [2009-03-18 01:41:40 +0000 UTC]

A shoggoth is usually about 15 foot in diameter but all that can be seen of this one is about 2 foot by 1 and a half foot. Theres a lot more of him outside the window!
