A slave is seen picking pods of thriir while a pxamaadhzot hauls a heavy cart of thriir pods in the background, followed by another slave. Working under the sweltering heat of the two suns, the slaves open their wings to cool off. Among the two pictured here is a distant guard wielding a polearm called an “asthish.” Guards are planted on the farms to make sure the slaves stay in line and do not disobey or rebel.
