A trio of archaeologists have returned to an already-unearthed monolith to study it more. These monoliths themselves, as well as suspicious fossils, are the only remains of the fabled Beforepeople, who play an integral role in the Kali'bak religions.

Many monoliths are typically around 10 to 15 feet tall, but this one is particularly short. The text on the monoliths themselves has confused and frustrated the linguists many times, as it is unlike anything they’ve seen. Many think that, after examining the characters and noticing patterns and similarities, the characters could make up what could be considered a “logography.” Yet the linguists on Chenshi Island are still not confident in what these characters may represent or even mean.
