Description
Photo from a session i had way back.I just really like the glow in the ball, so i converted it to duo tone and gave it a massive blur-layer in photoshop.
It is a water ball on a cd, very regular with water on cd, but hopefully it is a tad more abstract than the regular.
Some might find the empty space a bit much, but i wanted a left centered composition here.
And i think the empty space enhances the zen feeling i was going for.
welcome to use as a wallpaper, but not for re-use.
Thats about it, if you have any questions, just ask!
Oh, and i don't know the English word for these "waterballs"
Not really the Norwegian either.
But it is tiny plastic like objects that expands and become bigger with water. ( about 500% its original size )
They have no practical use, other then giving me photo sessions and decorating a home.

Very beautiful indeed.
When I looked at your photo the following came into my mind,
"Alignment with the present moment is the end of karma."

This is absolutely beautiful, this picture.
Also, I searched "Waterballs" on Google, looking for the name, and checked out a YouTube video to see if the description said anything.
They are Water Absorbing Beads, and are more commonly knows as imbibition balls., and they can be found in flowershops. (:

This is a beautiful piece of work. I am curious as to how you achieve your split-toning: do you use Lightroom?

Thank you Often i use Lightroom for yellow/blue split, in this case i first used curves in photoshop to get a green/blue/yellow, then i enhanced that with a selective color adjustment to get away most of the red/green that came with the curves. Hope that was informative enough

Interesting stuff; I've always just used colour balance adjustments then hue/saturation after switching to black & white to get any split toning effects when not using Lightroom's intuitive system, so this is informative indeed. Thank-you for that. ;)

Well first of you need a macro lens or a lens capable of taking close-ups, then you need to find out how you want to compose the shot.
It is best to set up everything before you try, that is the beauty of still-life, there is no randomness.
A light source needs to be placed if you want a strong light and shadow effect, here i placed it from above, it is up to you
the texture the object is on is also important, in this case i had to blur it due to the fact that it was to harsh. Oh, and it is taken in a dark room, only the Ikea lamp lightning up, that way you can get a nice surrounding darkness, and need less contrast and vignette work in the post processing. Hope that was a tad helpful. Good luck!

The reflection effect on a circular surface.

Ah, i find the reflection easier to achieve with one light source in a dark room. In this case i had a 60w lamp over the object to bring out a good contrast and shadow.
