Description
This is a group of Mokume rings I've begun making, able to be used as stacking rings. They are thin enough so that you can wear a few rings next to each other and mix up patterns and colors. These are a mix of Sterling Silver and Copper and Sterling Silver and Nickel Silver. In Star patterns and random patterns.
These will all be listed on my Etsy page soon [link]

How many times do you twist your billet? And do you cut through all the way, then bend it round and solder it closed, or do you turn the ring inside-out after so you don't have to cut all the way and solder?

They're twisted as tight as I could twist them without breaking. These are all cut and soldered. That's the easiest way to get the most out of the material.

As tight as you could means roughly how many times?

6-10 times perhaps. It's tough to remember as I've never really thought about it before, lol.

Do you twist them hot or cold?

Cold. I know it can be hot forged so I imagine hot twisting could work. Although depending on what your using, Copper doesn't like to be forged hot in any way for instance.

Really? Isn't it hard to twist it then? I have done some twisting with a copper/bronze billet. I twisted it hot, and it worked. However, I tried to twist silver/nickel silver hot, and after half a twist, it broke. I don't know how you would twist it cold. My billets are quite thick, something like 9mm X 9mm, and it's too hard to twist cold. Do you have a certain method of doing this?

Ahh, Your twisting much earlier than me. The thickest I twist is after rolling down to 5mm x 5mm.

But even 5 x 5 is pretty thick. Isn't it hard to twist it?

Nah, Although if I want a real tight star pattern I go down to 3.5mm. Just anneal and twist away.
