This piece has been in my WIP for a very long time. Haha, wanted to do something bloody for the sake of halloween though! I couldn't quite get the anatomy right, even with how much I referenced which is why I didn't want to finish it but gak-- you can only leave it sitting around for so long ne.Would love any critiques regarding it. Okay, this looks freaking gory af, but it's so pretty??
I love the color pallet overall, and that blood looks hella nice. ((Also I'm digging that hair color, and those missing fingers ! ))
My overall critique would probably be the left arm -- tbh I literally just tried doing the same pose myself and I think that the left arm would be extended outward some more, and not so close to the body. It seems that even the left shoulder would be raised a little bit, that way the body can be held up a little better.
Overall though a pose like this must have been hella hard to even draw in the first place, but you did a v nice job with this!!

I like it. It's an interesting pose. Is there any back story? I seem to have to have a narrative in my mind before I can draw someone.

back story to Lamont? Lamont is a super niave catholic boy who is very depressed. He is home schooled, and spends most of his time by himself.
In his story, his innocence grabs the attention of a super powerful demon, who starts snacking on Lamont and eating away at him, thus where this picture comes from.
Eventually the demon tries to strike a deal with Lamont to sign a contract to make it stop, which eventually he does, but the signing of the contract makes him quickly grow evil and crazy for power himself, so Lamont ends up murdering the people in his church and then shooting himself. In the afterlife he becomes an ultra powerful demon becuase of how messed up he got in his real life, and starts spreading his own chaos on humans

It is suppose to be a guy yes! He's pretty androgynous though so I'm gla you were slightly confused in that sense, since his gender is suppose to be a bit hard to read

Haha yeah it wasn't intentionally suppose to look so suggestive, I didn't even really see it myself until somebody else pointed it out and I was like 'oh.. yeah right.' I think I'm just so surrounded by sexual things at all times with my art and my job that I can't like see the simple things LOL
I agree about the elbow. It was a difficult pose, I'll probably come back to it later when I'm a bit more experienced with complicated poses like this!

Haha no worries. For some reason, his story with the demon always seemed a little molesty to me. Like this very handsy being comes in in the night every night. Touches him in places he doesn't want to be touched. Idk maybe my mind is always in the gutter, but I kind of have a hard time not reading it that way for some reason.

Haha no man, I feel the same way. I didn't mean for it to be that way, but there are definitely a lot of aspects of Lamont's story that seem like big metaphors for molestation. The points you made are definitely parts that I've thought about too, but also the whole 'losing innocence' in such a quick way sort of thing, that feels similar too.
Who knows, maybe this is just a big metaphor for a 'canon' of sort of Lamont that he's covering up with stories of demons. I'm not sure what would be more messed up though at that point LOL Lamont does write a lot of stories though.

Now that would be pretty cool. In a fucked up sort of way. Stories where the supernatural elements are ambiguous are always interesting.
Following that vein, Matthew could be just a figment of Lamont's imagination in our RP. Like some sort of ideal construct of what Lamont wishes he could be (more bold, confident, happy, extroverted) as well as an outlet for his suppressed homosexuality.

AHHAA omg this got too real. I feel attacked cuz this concept could be so real haha. Matthew could just be part of Lamont's imagination, just like the demon, and it's all just an escape. Spooky. Idk what's more spooky haha. Then eventually the 'demon' gets too strong and that's when Lamont has all these thoughts of just killing everybody who turned a blind eye to him, but in the end he just kills himself.
