for rough sketchi always use HB pencil. when the rough is defined i make it more clear with a 0.5 mechanical pencil. since so much detail this helps me see it more sharp and clear. then i use a 0.3 size ink liner to ink and therefore confirm the lines i want then rub out all the pencil and u have somethin like this
