History books (particullarly one's concening pre-quintesson history, as they prove the caste system wasnn't always a thing), Poems, Liturature (both offworld and cybertronian), whatever he can get his hands on really as books & datapads are a little hard to come by in the mines.

Well he was more literate than most manual caste, with information on very basic literacy given to him after he was built, because he as a mining transport he needed to be able to read to ensure consignments or Energon were delivered to the right place and that they contained the right amount.
But he taught himself more advanced literacy and vocabulary, partly by 'borrowing' data pads etc.
