Description Chapter 15: Reunification

Silence had fallen upon the Soul Killer's headquarters,  wind echoed through the broken windows and the walls made loud creaking noises, sounding like they were about to fall apart. The place seemed utterly deserted, with the only form of life seemingly coming from Zaach, who sat outside the medical bay, waiting for the news about Hakar.

Zaach seemed to stare lifelessly at the ground, right now all he could think about was whether or not Hakar would survive. Had they made it back in time? Could Sauvix save him from the grievous wounds that were inflicted upon him?

Zaach refused to believe that Hakar could perish, from what Zaach had witnessed Hakar do and how many times he had seemingly stared death in the face and still survived, it just didn't seem likely for him to be killed.

Finally, more activity arrived in the form of Sauvix stepping out of the medical bay, his hands and armour bloodied. However, from the way Sauvix walked and acted, it seemed as though tragedy hadn't struck.

"Hakar will survive." Sauvix said, straight to the point. "His stubbornness is keeping him alive, funnily enough."

Zaach sighed in relief, he was fearing the worst for no reason, their leader was alive and well.

"Although I doubt he will be combat able for a few weeks, he's had a rare moment of sense and decided that we stay put and lay low for a while." Sauvix added. "I think we've done enough damage to stir up the Kyrll's nest, don't you agree?"

"True, we are probably the ground walkers most wanted now." Zaach joked.

Sauvix didn't really pay attention to the joke.

"What about Taus?" Zaach asked.

"Still resting, but he will heal soon enough." Sauvix replied. " I wouldn't go anywhere just yet, Hakar had requested to see you."

"Why?"

Sauvix simply shrugged, that's all Hakar had asked, no reasons or anything.

Zaach looked at Sauvix a little closer, from the look of it, it seemed as though Sauvix was holding back a comment. Zaach didn't think much of it at first, though just as he was about to enter the medical bay and see Hakar, Sauvix uttered what he was holding back.

"It seems as though I misjudged you Zaach." Sauvix announced.

Zaach was quite stunned.

"Why?" He asked.

"I never trusted you from the start, I saw you as just some dead weight Neophyte that Hakar found dying in the streets. I thought maybe instead of leaving you to die, Hakar, in his blind anger, saw it fit to cloth you in combat then have you killed." Sauvix explained.

Zaach took a step back, that was quite a thought. Though he had to admit, it sounded like that was going to the case.

"Though it seems I was wrong, which is rather rare. For a mere Drone, you have shown  surprising intelligence and combat skills. Maybe you are indeed destined to be a Soul Killer." Sauvix continued.

Zaach nodded, feeling very chuffed indeed.

---

Hakar lay back on the medical bed, recovering from his near death fight with the Demon. Despite his injuries, he was quite proud of himself for what he and his Soul Killers had achieved. He was once again, able to witness another victory for the Soul Killers, continuing their never failing streak.

He occasionally felt stings and twinges in his back when he tried to move himself into a more comfortable position, but they were more minor annoyances that actual pains, anyway, he saw them as proof of combat, as signs of surviving a brutal fight bought honour to the Soul Killer name.

He looked to see Zaach enter the medical bay and walk over to him.

"Hakar?" Zaach asked.

"Zaach, I promise this shall not take long." Hakar replied.

Zaach nodded in response, Hakar raised himself up slightly so that he would be eye level with Zaach.

"You demonstrated some true Soul Killer actions out there Zaach, not only that, but you saved my life…" Hakar started, but Zaach quickly interrupted him.

"You saved mine first sir." He said. "I was nothing more than disposable fodder. You could've left me for dead out there, but you rescued me and taught me to fight the ways of the Soul Killer."

"Yes, I suppose this is your redemption?" Hakar asked. Zaach seemed confused.

Zaach seemed a little unsure about that comment.

"I told you that by joining us, it was a chance to repent for any previous errors you had committed." Hakar explained. "Not only did you quickly excel in your training, but you saved both my life and any other surviving locust brothers out there by slaying the Demons. You have done more than enough for us."

Zaach smiled and nodded. "I guess you are right, that was my chance for redemption…"

"…And you took it." Hakar added. "Thank you Zaach."

Zaach continued to smile and nod at his injured leader, before turning away and exiting the medical bay.

---
Zaach had grown to like the peaceful area outside the headquarters, he sat on a large rock underneath a tall tree and watched the large orange sun descend slowly. He wanted to stay outside just a little longer before the darkness fell upon the surface world.

All in all, Zaach felt extremely proud of himself, no longer would he be looked down upon as nothing, he was a Soul Killer now, an elite soldier of the Queen's personal army. He was well respected by his leaders and peers, all of this making him much stronger and confident than he ever was.

Zaach crossed his legs and sat in a way that resembled meditating, he had no idea where it came from, he just suddenly did it out of impulse. Zaach closed his eyes and began to chant away.

"The Horde remain strong, no matter what happens, we will continue to fight until our enemies perish and we bring glory to our race." Zaach prayed.

Out of nowhere, seismic activity startled Zaach out of his chant and sent him tumbling off the rock he sat upon, Landing face fist into the ground. Zaach was almost up in an instant as he saw a large portion of the ground burst open.

From the ground emerged The Hydra, the personal mount of the Kantus High Priest Skorge. Zaach stared in shock, his mouth gate wide open as the majestic, but terrifying beast hovered in the air for a few moments.

Skorge himself looked just like how others had described him, tall and imposing, his face looked into a look of fury and his mouth filled with razor sharp teeth. He was armed with his signature duel chainsaw staff, which was smeared with blood from what looked like a recent conflict, as well as a few small skulls dangling off his belt, acting as trophies.

Though Skorge had a passenger with him on his Hydra, Zaach couldn't make out who it was. They were clad in small knight style armour coloured red and silver, wearing silver tipped boots, an unique looking helmet with a visor covering the face. The Locust emblem on the neck piece of the armour glowed brightly and stood out quite a bit.

Finally, the Hydra landed right in front of Zaach. Both of it's riders leapt off the beast, but Skorge seemed to take a step back and bow as the other rider approached Zaach.

The rider took off the visor… it was none other that Queen Myrrah herself.

Zaach could only fall to the ground and bow before his Queen, he had never actually seen her in the flesh before, only having heard her majestic voice boom over the Nexus intercoms, encouraging her "children" to fight the humans and that she would save them.

Myrrah examined Zaach quite closely, noticing he wore the Soul Killer armour.

"A Drone has the strength to be one of my Soul Killers?" She asked, but her curiosity turned to a triumphant smile. "Most fascinating…"
---

"Even with their weapon of destruction, we survived their pitiful attempt to destroy us. They do not understand why we cannot stop… nor that we cannot be stopped."

"The Soul Killers have once again proved to humanity that they cannot win this war, it is but only a matter of time before we destroy them, and with the Soul Killers on our side, that will be soon!"

"Our Revival has begun!"
