"AAAAAH!" Lia had all but screamed as she'd shot across the room into Asvoli's awaiting arms."Aunty Li! HI! You're here!"
"Oooh hello my little lamb!" Asvoli had replied as she'd squeezed her niece tightly, ruffling Lia's blonde hair.
"I didn't know you were coming!" Lia cried happily, as Pyrrha came into the foyer and smiled at her cousin.
"Surprise!" Asvoli replied "and I've got a few more for you for tomorrow!"

Of course, that happy Reunion had paled compared to Jaden and Amber's arrival...

"Yaaay! uncle Jaden's here!" Jj beamed as he toddled on shuddering legs towards his stunned uncle, who stared in amazement at JJ's effort. Beside him, Amber paused midway through taking off her gloves to press a hand to her mouth. Pyrrha stopped behind her son, beaming with pride as she took in her brother and sister-in-laws reactions. Jaden and Amber absolutely adored JJ, and it was no small sight seeing their sickly nephew in his feet for, what Pyrrha realized, was the first time.
"Lookit Uncle Jaden, I'm doing it!" JJ went on as he took one toddering step after another, his footsteps shaky and deliberate with his arms stretched out to help keep his balance. Jaden, his eyes brimming with tears, knelt down before JJ, his hands outstretched as the boy came closer.
"Y-You sure are, champ!" Jaden stammered, a disbelieving laugh escaping his lips as JJ finally, with one last burst of effort, stumbled into Jaden's hands, who promptly whisked his nephew into the air with triumphant laughter.
"Hey there Kiddo, look at you!" Jaden grinned as he spun JJ in a circle, eliciting giggles from both the lad and Amber.
"You'll be running the Vale marathon next!" Jaden laughed as he stopped spinning and hugged JJ close. JJ grinned widely before turning his gaze to Amber.
"hi Aunty Amber! You look really pretty!" He babbled out in his usual greeting. All three adults laughed as Pyrrha came up and took their coats: JJ greeted Amber by calling her "pretty" regardless of circumstance.
"Why thank you sweety!" Amber replied as she took her nephew from Jaden's arms, the lad burying his face in the fur-lined shoulders of her dress with a giggle as he hugged her.
As Amber fussed over JJ, Jaden turned to Pyrrha with a cocked eyebrow.
"You could have warned us" he whispered to his sister as he wiped his eyes. Pyrrha smiled maternally.
"He wanted to surprise you. He's been practicing all month."

Pyrrha smiled at the fond memories, before thinking back to the surprise of the evening: She and Jaune had hired a professional photographer to take a holiday portrait photo.
She chuckled as she remembered Asvoli devolving into apoplexy as she immediately dashed off to get changed into something more appropriate than the casual clothes she'd been traveling from Mistral in, while Amber had insisted on helping JJ get into his good clothes.

It took a few takes, but as Pyrrha gazed upon the picture, she felt it was worth it.

The rest of the evening had been spent in revelry: Asvoli and Lia had spent the night "Training" which lit up the night with pyrotechnic splendor, while Jaden and Amber had played with JJ, who had proven far more adept crawling about the floor playing with his toy soldiers than he had trying to walk. Their attention had given Pyrrha and Jaune some time to themselves which... wasn't wasted.

Lia was off at Beacon now, already a rising star in her class and already surpassing Pyrrha in some categories, while JJ was at Vale university, one of their youngest attendees, his feeble legs strengthened by a combination of therapy, Compression legwear and a pair of mechanical braces she'd helped him design. Asvoli had succeeded her mother Melaine as head of House Nikos, but made sure to stay in touch, while Jaden and Amber...there was a bit of a mystery there, but come Heavens Day she knew they'd simply appear as out of thin air, arms full of presents and hearts full of joy.

Pyrrha smiled again.
It was all she could have asked for.
