Description
This is the printed out plastic prototype(I painted it to look metallic) I wanted to give this a shot to test the way it sat in my hand, the feel of striking it against something, how easy is it to take out of my hand, etc etc. I think I am gonna beef it up to 30% larger and widen the scales(handles) about 2x thicker(I want the bolts recessed into the scale a lil more). I want this to be a stash/neck knife so I dont wanna go nuts on the size but usability is big to me too(the pcord lanyard helps for a more stable grip in the "further back" not choked up hold).....stay tuned for updates aka metal/chopping things/hopefully not cutting holes in myselfps-sorry for the craptastic pic quality...my dslrs batteries kicked the bucket on me so I had to cell phone it...

interesting design. looks like you want it to be a general-purpose emergency utility knife

totally, jack of many trades but ace of none. I would like it to be snapped into a kydex neck holster and be small/light enough to forget about until you need it.

looks like a good design overall. be sure to make it thick enough to act as a short lever or pry-bar.

I'm seriously interested in seeing the finished product. If its anything like what you have here, I think it will be epic.

It does look a /hair/ small for the sort of use it might get, but it looks great in meatspace.
I'm sure you've probably answered / mentioned this elsewhere, but I didn't spot it on a super quick look: Do you have your own 3d printer, or are you getting your stuff printed by someone?

hey thanks man! Im shooting for beefing it up by around 30% and putting a thicker handle on it. I use shapeways.com for my resin/stainless printing

Very nice. Shapeways is dangerous. I love that rapid prototyping keeps getting more and more affordable.
