Actually, considering Pinkie created her own equipment (where else did the Party Cannon come from), seems to know everyones name in Ponyville (as well as their birthdays), and was the only one who understood Twi's technobabble in one of the EG films, she could very well be one of the smartest characters in the show.

She IS the smartest-she's aware of every existing universe after all. My guess is she's an even bigger god of chaos than Discord. It's just her randomness and short attention span mitigate the immensity of her powers. Otherwise she'd be worthy of quite a bit of fear.Β
