Description Roleplay between and featuring our characters Cassidy and Seaver.

The Main Den. It was...charming. Cassidy peered inside the great limestone cave and sniffed at the air. It was riddled with the scents of multiple wolves and he turned away, looking up at the large rowan tree that seemed to sprout from the cave's entrance. He hadn't heard or seen any pups since he'd been inside the territory, maybe that was why he was allowed to wander the Main Den site unsupervised. It seemed odd these wolves would trust a complete stranger with their young. He shrugged the thought away, already tired of trying to understand others.

Spicybuns said the following:

A noisy rustle from the undergrowth just beside the den caused some birds to flock away in fright when out tumbled Seaver face first into the den site clearing, his hind legs flailing in the air behind him as his rear end tumbled down finally, having him completely flat on his stomach. Leaves and twigs stuck to his pelt and his fur parted in funny patches where he had cowlicks, making him look like a fruit loop from the start. He grunted and pushed up with a pout, shaking off the debris that followed him out of the thicket when out of the corner of his eye movement gave way, and he stopped mid-shake to look at a mildly disturbed male sitting on the other side of the den entrance. A goofy smile spread across his face as his tail began to wag, and he popped up and headed straight over to the new wolf. Obviously he had just joined Aryn, otherwise he wouldn't be near the den unsupervised. "Well hey dude!" He greeted, practically getting up into the pale orange male's face with his happy self.

Cassidy's ears perked in surprise when a disheveled wolf fell through the brush. He blinked, attempting to understand what had just happened, when the wolf was suddenly only inches from his face. Cas instinctively drew back, ears pinning themselves back against his head. He stared back, unwilling to blink lest he miss another unpredictable movement.

Keeping his neck craned back he answered in monotone, "'Hello dude' to you too."

Spicybuns said the following:

He pulled back after he realized he was practically towering over the equally sized male. They were around the same height and weight, if not Seaver being only a smidgen taller. He still kept a over-happy grin on his face and his tail was curled in the air to signify is friendliness. "You must be brand new here, welcome to Aryn! The name's Seaver." He introduced, lifting a paw to his chest while his ears and eyelids lowered to a humble yet show-offish display.

sourlemonfox said the following:

Cas silently breathed a sigh of relief when the other wolf--Seaver--backed off. He wasn't exactly fond of others invading his personal space. His face remained blankly neutral through Seaver's introduction. He remained silent until he realized this was the part where he was supposed to introduce himself.

"Cassidy." he said by way of introduction. "Yes, the Alphess just accepted me in recently."

----------
Spicybuns said the following:

"Ah, that's great! It's always good to have more wolves here in Aryn." He said, taking a moment to proudly look around the most vacant den site, but he had grown quite comfortably attached to the pack as time went on. "So, met anyone besides Lady Athena yet?" He asked, popping a squat just a couple feet away from Cassidy, obviously planning to make this conversation drag out as he tried to get as much information from the new inductee as possible. Any painful expression his new friend gave Seaver completely overlooked. He was too absorbed in his excitement over a new wolf in Aryn.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Cassidy sighed slowly through his nose and through sheer force of will kept his expression blank. So this was happening. He knew he'd have to meet the rest of the pack eventually, but meeting one so gregarious so soon was exhausting. After some hesitation he sat as well, curling his tail around his paws.

"No, you are the first wolf I've met besides Ath-Lady Athena." he replied, tripping over the moniker. "Are there many wolves in Aryn?" he asked, steering the conversation in a direction he preferred.

----------
Spicybuns said the following:

Seaver shook his head slowly at first, a little hesitant to answer. It was a tedious question to ask for a new wolf, especially since Aryn had freshly declared war with the red pack Blutwald, but if Lady Athena had approved him then it must be okay to answer his questions. "We are small so far, having Charaka and Alcatraz as the Wardens, Riley and Alexandro as Rangers, and Raghaalr hasn't chosen a task yet. I'm the pack's first Courser." He explained with a particularly smug grin, proud of his single title. It was very recent that Riley gained a fellow Ranger, now making Seaver the only one of his kind per-say, and he took to that very mildly to say the least.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Cassidy's small ears perked up slightly as Seaver rambled off the pack members. So there were at least seven wolves in Aryn, making him number eight. He didn't want to rely on Seaver's count however, so decided he'd have to meet more pack members.

"Tasks." he finally replied, thinking the word and it's meaning over in his head. "I suppose I'd have to pick one, yes? How does one go about deciding their task?"

----------
Spicybuns said the following:

He leaned forward to scratch at some nasty fleas that were beginning to chew away at his exposed cow lick round the back of his neck, fluffing up his fur even more so as Cassidy asked another question. "Ah, tasks. Well you choose a task that best fits your skill set. For example, I'm a Courser, and Coursers are the main providers of food for the pack. I'm fast and swift, making me a good chaser." He explained, but then proceeded to explain what all of the tasks were before he could even ask. "There's Wardens, your tougher larger wolves who act as guards, Rangers, who leave the territory often and spy on other packs, their job is the most dangerous one. Then there's Vicars, the spiritual leaders and healers of the pack." He explained, flexing out his toes as he named each one.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Cassidy hummed in thought, mulling his options over. Well, he'd have to contribute to the pack some how. They'd become suspicious of him if he was just a no-good lazeabout.

"I think I would prefer to be a Ranger or Courser." he thought out loud, attention drawn away from Seaver. "Do I have to inform the Lady?" he asked after a long moment of silence, sharp gaze shifting back to Seaver.

----------
SpicySpaghettio said the following:

He felt a buzz of excitement rush through his feet. A potential Courser! Finally! He wouldn't have to be alone doing his duties! If he chose it, of course. He'd somehow have to convince him that they didn't need any more Rangers. Clearing his throat, he straightened up and tried his best to contain his excitement. "Yes, in a sense. Though honestly, we need more Coursers than we do Rangers. We already have a couple, but I'm the only one supplying the pack with food at the moment. I'm thinkin' you should try for Courser to, you know, help out the pack and all." He said very nonchalantly, biting his lower lip.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

"I'll consider it." Cassidy clipped his reply. "You've been very informative...thank you."

Cassidy was beginning to feel exhausted from the long exposure to Seaver. All he wanted was to move off and find some quiet place in these new lands where he could rest and sort through his thoughts. Though if every wolf in the pack were like Seaver, he doubted he'd find much rest anywhere. Without a word of goodbye he stood and began to saunter away in a seemingly random direction, eyes lazily scanning around.

----------
SpicySpaghettio said the following:

He beamed energetically at Cassidy, his tail thumping on the ground. "You are very welcome-!" He was cut off by Cassidy's sudden rise, and the russet Courser watched as the light orange male sauntered off in some random direction without another word. Uh... bye? He thought to himself, raising an eyebrow in confusion. That was sort of... rude. He shrugged it off, figuring that the new wolf must have been tired and didn't liked saying goodbye. Now that he was alone, he looked around rather dumbly and tapped his toes, waiting for something else to come along.
