Description
this character info isnt entirely based on IRL! I want to make that very clear, because some of it is based on reality to keep the character grounded and easier to manage playing as, but a lot of it is just pure fiction.

The design, minus the scars, would be applicable to my main 'sona. More outfits can be seen here;

IMPORTANT NOTE; Half of the story was written by Paisley1505 in a collaborative writing thingy in script-like formatting, known as roleplay. The characters and their designs that belong to her are; (this version of) Sans, Xania (although, I play her character), Ruby, Virgil, Luna, Jason, and of course her self-insert Chara. Please be sure to keep that in mind as you read.

Age: 15-16 rn, correlates with my IRL age
Gender: Non-binary/genderqueer (Assigned female at birth)

Species: Half phoenix (from biological father), half some kind of other mortal, non-human, species (from biological mother)
Current family: Chara Skeleton (sister and bff, half shapesifter and half skeleton) Xania Skeleton (adoptive female parental unit, shapeshifter) Sans Skeleton (Adoptive Dad..sh dont- dont make fun of me for this- its @ Paisley1505 's version of sans, and- jakdjlf;kd;fkadf-) Dandy (Sans's pet beast, acts like a dog and a cat mixed, but more like a dog. Friendly boyyo, but can and will fight you if you threaten him)

Early childhood:
His biological parents had a strained relationship (lots of arguing n stuff) until eventually his father packed up and left. He was about 6-7 at the time, and didn't quite understand what was going on, and basically waited for his father to come back. His mother had to scramble to find work, as she'd been previously relying on the father to support the family financially, and was eventually able to find a job, but it didnt pay much (just barely enough to get by with the help of food stamps).
When he was about 11 years old, his mother fell ill. She'd gone to the hospital, but the treatment was too expensive, so she had to put faith in hopefully healing on her own. She did not heal, and ended up passing away not long after.

-was fairly short and underweight, due to sometimes not having quite enough nutrients to allow for much growth
-His first knife and the one he has until he's 12ish, was given to him by his father.
-he had long hair. He was out to his mom, expressing that he's a he/they and wanted to be seen as a boy more than as a girl, however she couldnt get him a haircut before her death.
-His mom had a purple laptop that she'd let Lynn use for drawing and other things while she was still alive, and that was fully given to him once she'd died. He is still protective of this laptop to this day.
-He was also a fast runner, and strong climber, as he spent most of his days playing outside.

Life at orphanage:
While at the orphanage, he was pretty nonverbal and kept to himself as much as he could. He didn't recieve any counseling about his mother's passing, and he didn't get along with any of the other children, so all of his feelings stayed to himself. After a bit, this caused him to be irritable and even more reserved (biting or threatening kids who tried to touch him or kept bugging him), and led him to some seemingly odd coping mechanisms that were very much against the orphanage rules (climbing to the rooftop *especially at night when stars are visible*, carrying a knife everywhere, always having the laptop with him *even sleeping with it*, etc).
He was also always percieved as a girl, despite his attempts to non-verbally communicate how he wants to be seen (When he would play with others, he'd only play with the boys. Tried to sleep in the boys' rooms several times, especially in the first few weeks. Would make sure to only play with "boy's toys". All of this, even if he preferred to do some activities with the girls, just to get a point across.) which only further pushed him to keep from the others.

-there were trees outside the orphanage, where he was allowed to climb during the day. He would climb as high as the branches would let him, just to get away from the others.
-he was placed into 10 different foster homes, but ran away from all of them within the first week. He wasnt ready for a new family, but they kept trying.
-The orphanage staff, and the homes he'd been placed in did try to feed him properly, but due to greif Lynn still didn't eat very much.

Adoption:
Sans and Xania wanted to grant Chara's wish of having a sibling, so they decided to adopt a child. Sans was less enthusiastic (preferring other- means of having children-) but Xania didn't cave into such nonsense.
They were entering the orphanage when Sans noticed a small child watching them from a tree. This small child was Lynn. Sans knows a gremlin child when he sees one, so he sat under the tree without saying a word to the child and said (loudly) "I think im gonna nap here. I sure hope no one tries to steal my wallet" (very clearly trying to get the gremlin child to come down). Lynn did not fall for his trick, instead he climbs down and tries to run off. Sans, being the sneaky bastard that he is, kept appearing right in front of him, asking Lynn questions and talking to him. Eventually, Lynn got fed up with his crap, and was about to kick him in the shins, when one of the people working the orphanage stops him.
Almost immediately, Sans says "I want this one". Which is met by the person taking Sans and Xania into a private room to discuss some of Lynn's behavorial issues and warn them of a few things. Sans keeps insisting that he wants to adopt Lynn, and even corrects the person on a few things, that he picked up on while bugging him (most notably, corrected the person on pronouns. Sans really be out here noticing the slightest cringe when she/her bein used, and fixed his pronoun usage instantly. Like- damn-) Xania has to drag Sans out and home, as he'd quickly gotten so heated that he was accusing the person of not doing his job properly, and for not giving proper care to Lynn.
Xania encouraged him to really think about whether adopting Lynn would be a good idea or not, as Chara gets attached to people easily, and this kid's a runner. But no, Sans had his mind set on Lynn, and later that night he went back to the orphanage and adopted Lynn (filling out all the paperwork, and signing Xani's name for her lmao).
Lynn didn't really want to go with Sans, but Sans promised Lynn would get to be his true self at home, and that he'd be able to get a haircut soon. So Lynn agreed to go with him, even if only for a little bit.
And yes, Xania did yell at him for this.
As soon as Lynn was brought into the home, Chara presented him with a welcome gift; a jacket that she and Xania had made together (and accidentally spilled lemonade on). Twas too big for him at the time, but he grew into it.

Life at new home:
At first, Lynn didn't expect to stay very long. Some non-important stuff happens for a week or so, he gets his haircut, and blah blah blah. He doesnt really get along with Sans at first, and doesn't really talk to Xania much at all. He does talk to Chara some, but still isn't very open about anything. He's also a tiny bit of an outcast at school now, because he made someone cry by accident, and that someone is half the class's close friend- He does have one "friend", a kid who keeps following him around (Jason) and keeps trying to talk to him.
Some time passes, and then out of the blue (heheh) Sans warns Lynn not to go into the woods or on the roof that night. Lynn listens for a bit, but then gets very curious about why. So being a dumb shit, he grabs his knife and a flashlight, and goes into the forest. There, he gets attacked by a big ol goop beast, and is on the verge of dusting, when Sans (having heard Lynn's screams) blasts the shit out of the beast, and starts trying to take Lynn home *he runs faster than a car btw, very cool*. Lynn tells him to put him down, and so Sans does. And poof, Lynn turns to ash (and this just- d e s t r o y s Sans-) but within a minute, magicy fire stuff starts comin from the ashes, and Lynn has been reborn.(Scars; bite mark on the neck, and claw marks on chest, are the result of this death) Sans then takes Lynn home, shaken, and scarred for life, after seeing his knife child just straight up die. For at least the next few days to follow, he's too paranoid to sleep, and takes care of Lynn while he recovers from dying.
The rest of this part of his life is still being written, so this is where i stop.

-Sans built Lynn a lil deck on the roof so that Lynn can be up there safely, with less risk of falling off.
-Skeleton family has a passionate rivalry with another family, the Darkstones (ft. Ruby + Kodiak and their children, Kai, Luna, and Virgil. They be rich) which involves things like trying to one-up eachother with "couple cuteness", their children's achievements (all three of the darkstone children are naturally high achievers), holiday decorations, etc. They're all friends in the end, but these rivalries get very heated, very quickly.
-while trying to get away from goop beast, Lynn tries to stab it, and the knife basically just- m e l t s- Sans later replaces that knife, and they carve their names into the handle together. This knife is now worth as much as 10000 gold pieces to Lynn.

Current day:
Current day Lynn still doesn't have any friends other than Chara. He doesn't bite anymore and does socialize a bit, but is still a little anti-social. He also has a mild facination with death and what happens after you die (like actually die, not what happens with phoenixes). He slacks off a little in school, and puts up this "Not interested in love" persona (in reality, he's just scared to be hurt by love. Scared that he'll get too attached, too reliant, on a romantic partner, and when that relationship fails, he'll be alone.). Despite this, Jason, no longer basically stalking lynn, because he's older now and now knows better.( He's not a creep, basically,) has a big ol crush on Lynn, and his lemon cake scent (he probably finds the scent cute and i just- NO- IM NOT CUTE- but also- askdfj thanku-)
Jason eventually takes a chance with this, and asks Lynn out. Lynn, being shocked and not wanting to be rude, agrees to a date. And little does he know it, but as soon as they go on that date and Jason hugs him, all his walls crumble, and he turns into a blob of wholesome affection. Yes he really does fall for jason that easily and quickly, and yes it did concern him, but hey. All his worries fade as soon as jason so much as smiles in his direction. Feeling that comfortable with him, despite all logic saying "hey hold back mdude", has to mean something right? (in this case, yes.) Well they keep going on dates and things go a lil far and oops, now they have a baby on the way. Jason's a good boyfriend tho, and is actually a lil excited to be a dad. (Which btw, is adorable. <3)
As for Lynn's relationship with his """new""" family; He is bffs with Chara, and they is very close, as they should be. He still doesn't really talk to Xania much, and doesn't really- see her as his mom (his mom, in his head, is still the one that died.) hOWEVER- his trust in Sans is solidified when Sans doesnt freak out over *the fetus developing in his motherfricken womb* and so he now definitely sees Sans as "dad". (he doesnt refer to sans as "dad" tho, because he doesnt want Xania to expect her to be "mom" now, and doesnt want her to get jealous. So its just Mrs Xania and Mr sans still.)
Lynn is still protective over his mom's laptop, but not as much as before.
