Description Herr Fuchs is back. Thinking about using the foxy Fechtschulen instructor for some more pieces in the future.
Until then, I will just copy/paste the description from his first appearance:

One of the most prominent European martial arts is the tradition of German longsword. Many schools draw roots back to the teachings of Johannes Liechtenauer in the 14th century and the 15th century visual aids of Hans Talhoffer's FechtbΓΌcher (fencing books).
With the rising popularity of fencing in the 15th and 16th centuries, many schools called Fechtschulen opened up and a special sword was used for training called a Federschwert. With the wide, flared base and long, thin blade, it was still balanced like a full sword but safer for sparring.

Your medieval art is some of the best around Southpaw

Thank you. Much appreciated, although there are artists with greater skill doing medieval art as well.

Looks good!Β  I'm with ARCR-CRic; it would be great to see a series featuring this character.Β Β  As always, I like the details of the costume, etc.Β  I assume he's wearing boiled-leather shoes?Β  That's cool how they are molded into the shape of paws.

Thanks. I also experimented with perspective. Still some problems but hopefully made some progress.

Oh mister fox is back . You did a great job on his pose, looks like he is ready for some fighting practice. Can't wait to see more of this series, hopefully I'll learn a thing or two about how to use the sword .

You are very welcome! I am glad you decided to draw more of him, not only this character has a very interesting design but the theme is quite unique as well, it is been a long while since I saw someone drawing fencing stuff using anthros .

I hadn't thought of making him a character until you said you wanted to see more of him. Now I will have to think more about him and his background.

Yay . Well, making him a character is all up to you, I personally have almost no characters as I usually try to bring just a feeling and introduce a context rather than try to favor someone's personality but I believe that this fellow you cause some impact if you decide to make an original character out of him .

It seems most of my characters emerged organically. I didn't sit down and decide to make a character. What happens is I draw something and someone else connects with them somehow and usually say something in the comments. I'm always so flattered by such a positive response that I flesh out the character more or at least try to do that character again

I think that is possibly the best way to get a character created, you don't plan on making one but it simply starts to exist naturally, it is the same process as to going without too much planning nor expectations to work with paints, you just get yourself amazed by the results in front of you as the mind didn't come up with anything to compare with what you did. It is like writing, I'd say we are responsible for the story's beginning, after that, the story tells itself .

It certainly feels very humbling and satisfying when it develops that way
