Personally I think it's arms should be spreading out rather than down, the perpendicular nature of the two seems a bit off. Also it seems quite 'playful' in it's execution of the move, but then again given the context who knows?
Still, it's a charming little animation. c:

Probably due to the way it smiles as it releases the attack. Again, I often look at my expressions to see how some would work (then again I have a mirror door for my wardrobe, right next to my desk so I just have to lean sideways. :'D)

I don't exactly do it mid-stroke, mind. Just glance in the mirror, note down how the feature is in realtion to the others and try to capture that on screen. :'D

It's probably ice shard as it was already said and it looks like that, but I'm gonna say icy wind as it is... the only ice attack it can learn naturally? what? what a surprise.
The animation is pretty nice, I think that you could speed it up a bit at the end and it would look even better. I think that's how it works.. you might want to ask Hanna, she is better at animating stuff than me. ;3
