these, as usual, are/will be great! though I do wish that one of the was a kirin 'cause I liked that in the first set that you did. But eh

I really like them. You really have some delicate legs and hooves which is very hard to do. (especially in 3 dimensions!) However, the necks and heads seem a little out of proportion in some of them. In particular, the Rook and King seem to have a very thick neck. This photo isn't quite the same pose, but it's close - [link] The necks just seem too large for the chest. The neck for the queen also seems a little off - it's almost too long/flexible. The picture I linked earlier shows what I mean a bit. I do like how aggressive it is.

They're not horses

I know they're not horses, but I figured they are probably the closest real equivalent, with the unicorns being perhaps more delicate looking than the horses.

Well you can make a unicorn whatever you want it to be. I like to go for a sort of crossed deer horse thing. Point is, if I wanted them to look like horses, they would look like horses. Thanks for the input!

I'd explain more but I'm not sure why it looks strange to me D; It could very well be that I've just never seen a horse with its head bowed in just that way.

I think the Biship is more of a Queen there. IDK the Queen looks odd to me with the neck and not so proud. But the rest of it is just awesome

I used to play chess all the time with my Dad when I was younger. I was like 6 years old and he'd make me sit there and play and finish the game every time, even if I was getting smoked. I don't think I've played it ever since. Not sure if I'll actually play with this set or just keep them on display but I definitely want to.

Thanks! I'm gonna be making boards to go with the set, the clock is sort of ticking down on my projects at this point though lol. I like to play against my husband; he usually always beats me but I can manage a stalemate sometimes! He's the one who actually made me make this new set because he really wants to play unicorn chess haha!
I've started working on them but I'm going away to France for two weeks on saturday, hence why the set wont be complete till the end of March

I'm super excited to play unicorn chess with everyone! Ohhh France, you guys going there for vacation? That's awesome. I've always wanted to go there to wander about to art museums. I mean I've been to art galleries here in Canada but it's not the same

Not so much a vacation for him! He works for a french company so he's on a business trip, I'm going along then taking the eurostar to england for a week.
I haven't been to Paris since I was a teenager so I'm looking forward to trolling the museums! It's the off season too so it should be pretty quiet
I always end up bringing my queen out too soon and she always ends up being taken lol. I actually won (well... stalemated) my last game with my only two pieces left being my king and rook; he had 5 pieces but I trapped his king in a little wall made of his own pawns... it was a pretty epic game! lol. Yeah, it'll be fun to do it with unicorns, I'm looking forward to using our own set

Ohh that sounds like fun. And it's good you get to go to England. I don't know how you do it, I'd be so sad if my family lived that far away from me
