Description
Assurancetourix of his original name.In the back you can see Cétautomatix (Fulliotomatix) and Ordralfabétix (Unhigienix) giving him the patented Uderzo StinkEye.
This was an exercise to see if I could draw unfamiliar character and style without reference.
I messed up pretty bad on Cétautomatix's pants and shoes, Assurancetourix doesn't look right (recognizable, but not right) and well for what lil we see of Odralfabétix, I got him right on the dot.
I might do more...

Well it depends.
It's easier to spot mistakes when you're working on somebody else's style and characters. You got reference material to look at during/afterwards.
when it's your own style, it's much harder.

But well, when you use your own style to draw a character, a scene or whatever, you have completely in mind what you want to express, how it should look like and so on ... So for me that's the reason why I critise my own stye a lot ^^

You do have a point tho, next Astérix exercise I do, I should do it in my own style. See how it goes.
