Description = Yet another alternate history rifle sketch=

The Fusile Revolucion FsR-1 rifle is a Cuban-made derivative of an US-made M1\M2 Carbine that was used by Cuban military before 1959 socialist revolution. After that, facing harsh Cold War-related economic santions from the US, new Fidel Castro-led marxist government had to find other way to get needed military hardware. Most of the heavy and (or) complex weapons systems like tanks or airplanes was bought from or outright donated by the USSR. However, Cuban government decided to go for domestic production infantry rifle. Cuban engineers modernized and upscaled the M1 carbine for it to take stronger 7,62x39mm Soviet intermediate rounds.
Resulting weapon was rather handy to use in battle, with effective range up to 300-400 meters do to new round, capable of semi-automatic of full-automatic fire and feeding from standard Soviet AK-type "sickle" 30-rounds magazine.
FsR-1 became the staple armament for the Cuban Army during 1960s and 1970s until 1986, when it was replaced by new (at that time) Chinese Type-81 assault rifle, licensed production of which was started in Cuba started in 1985 as part of the economic cooperation between Cuba and Chinese People's Republic.
