Description
A vast improvement over the quirky E-10 design, BlasTech E-11 blaster carbine's utility and ease of use, as well as compact design ideal for close quarters operations quicky earned this weapon good-earned renown. However, it was this carbine's cheap and simple manufacturing process, that was decisive in E-11's adoption as First Galactic Empire regime's standard infantry arm.
Over the years E-11 was widely copied (with both licensed and unlicensed variants produced throuthout the Galaxy, further accelerated when the original BlasTech patents for the design expired), finding their way into hands of many military or paramilitary personnel, from Empire's stormtroopers to Rebel Alliance's soldiers to various Planetary Defense Forces/local militatias to outright criminal groups, like spacelane pirates and smuggler gangs.
While BlasTech did come up with an improved model - the EL-16 blaster rifle, discontinuing E-11 production (a variant of that - the EL-16HFE blaster rifle became the standard infantry arm for New Republic's armies) literally billions of E-11 blaster rifles were produced for First Galactic Empire's needs alone, and as of 30 ABY E-11 variants continue to be produced by smaller Mid-Rim or Outer Rim-based companies.
