I think he looks cool and he definitely looks knightly, since that seems to be one of the major themes/motifs shown in the film, but it look nothing like Optimus save for his head.

Do you think his appearance is almost looks like his old self, Orion Pax? Minus the knight appearance. Before he became Optimus Prime.

So his Protoform version then? He had the same design as the first movie preview figure back when he was Orion Pax in the movie prequel comics.
