No university - it was in high school that I acquired my French. I took four years of foreign language (only two were required, but I'm a nerd) - two of French, two of Spanish.

I had two years of French (voluntarily) in high school. Amazing, n'est-ce pas? - an American who speaks something more than her native language!
It's been quite a few years since my last French class, though, so don't expect more than tres, beaucoup, and frappe le singe out of me.

Great figure! Where did you come up with the idea for this? Imagine digging in an archeological excavation and seeing this?

The Idea? co complex to explain, bu to answer your question avout "demos" that's true, and not "demon", Demo give Democracy, DEmos and Cratos in old greek. But the people dont be demon, exept for the dictator
