i don't really like to use layers though otz and when i do i always do silly mistakes like painting on the wrong layer XDD

[link] this is how I do bigger pieces with a layer per colour (though lately I've been using three layers; sketch/lineart depending, colour, background)

haha yeah I think it's good to put it all on the same layer (i used to use a huge number of layers but then i got better and didn't need it as much and just kept scrolling and searching and it DOES get annoying)
but i still have a tendency to do the characters first... or else I get confused by the background haha or im scared to mess up the background if i like it a lot? ;__;
I think I should go ahead and try out one layer only.

i understand though that happens a lot ;;;
like drawing through the whole background first and finally turns back back to the character sometimes you had the thought "nooooooo it covered the best part ; _;" or something XD
one layer is kinda hard at first but once you got used to it it becomes real easy c:
