One could say Chaton was quiet. Rather when he was dropped off at the Auribell one night he just simply didn't know what to do. Having been sheltered since birth he was confused at being set in the orphanage. Did he do something wrong? He did everything to his fathers wishes, give or take childish error. He sat at the front desk, staring at the doors while the workers settled some papers.

Maybe this was his chance to make friends! He suddenly thought. With a dash of oblivious innocence, he began to introduce himself to other Auri as soon as he was let loose in the building, simply believing his father was finally letting him make friends. Though as the day wore on, it was becoming hard for the Auri to ignore the whispers. "Poor child" was a common one he'd heard, mostly from the adults who recognized him by name. Soon that day turn into a week... then into a month. He had only barely began to accept the fact that no one was going to come back for him, and while laying in the grass outside the orphanage, he found that even the creatures seemed to mock him.

He watched a purple butterfly flutter overhead, the odd color catching his eye before he noticed it seemed to be... terrorizing? something smaller. Sitting up, the Auri soon realized this butterfly wasn't no ordinary insect, and seemed to be picking fun at a ladybug just trying to skitter along an object. Fluttering about as to mock it.

He didn't know what possessed him to rush over, but he did anyway. Chasing and snapping at it like he was attempting to eat it. Only when it was clearly out of sight that he returned to carefully lift the ladybug on a broken stick, as to not startle it, then shook it as if to say "well go on, your safe now". It flittered its tiny little wings at him, skittering back and forth on the stick. Only then did he actually look down at the object the ladybug was originally on.

Carefully, he picked the bracelet up his other paw, and turned it several times in examination. The black garment was simple enough, looked more like a watch, except instead of telling time it only dawned a paw print. Though as he looked at it again and again, he found that the inside was inscribed with a name.

"Chat.. Noir?" he breathed in confusion. Taking another look at the ladybug, still on the stick for whatever reason and then back at the bracelet. He wondered if maybe it led him to it, but surely a garment with a name on it must mean someone lost it, and would be wanting it back! Contemplating it over and over in his head before deciding to slip it on anyway, if someone noticed and wanted it back then he shall give it to them, but for the time being its finders keepers. Taking one last look at his new accessory, he took a fond look at the ladybug as it skittered to the end of the branch, then fluttered down to the grass and disappeared from view.

"Chat Noir, Huh. Has a nice ring to it." Chat would end up referring to himself as this about a week later, earning the nickname 'Chaton' from an adult who later told him it just meant 'kitten'. A few days later, he gave a big thank you to a ladybug resting in a flower bed, unsure if it was the same one but happy, none-the-less and proceeded to make it a goal to rescue anyone who needed it.

Funny, how it all started from one... small ladybug.
