Some more fanart for my bro.

He wanted a Pokemon picture this time, so I came up with "Legendary Showdown".

I'm not much of a Pokemon junkie (I've only played the old Gameboy version of Pokemon Blue all the way through), but the legendary Pokemon have always fascinated me. Their designs are usually quite distinctive, and their powers (particularly Mewtwo's) are almost Godlike (or, in the case of Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and Arceus, actually ARE Godlike).
The one problem with them? Their numbers.

There are just so many (over 35 at the moment), and considering that any one of them has enough power to potentially devastate the planet (Mewtwo, Groudon, Giratina or Arceus, anybody?) , it seems a little extraordinary that all these insanely strong creatures can all coexist on one tiny little planet.

This is another one of my 2008-2010 era digital artworks, and exhibits the usual oversaturation, bad perspective, worse composition, clumsy linework and grating colours that were all prevalent in my art at that time.

I had fun drawing the Pokemans, though, so it wasn't a total loss

From left to right, the legendary Pokemon in "Legendary Showdown" are:

1) Kyogre (Water type. Embodies the power of the ocean. Appears in Pokemon Sapphire.)
2) Groudon (Ground type. Embodies the power of the land and tectonic motion. Appears in Pokemon Ruby.)
3) The Deoxys twins (Psychic type. Created from an alien virus mutated by a laser. Appears in Pokemon FireRed, LeafGreen, Diamond and Pearl.)
4) Rayquaza (Dragon/Flying type. Lives in the upper atmosphere, and can manipulate the weather. Appears in Pokemon Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald.)
5) Mewtwo (Psychic type. Megalomaniacal, capable of speech, extremely dangerous, and an artificial clone of Mew. Appears in Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow.)
6) Mew (Psychic type. An elusive, playful Pokemon originally believed to be extinct. Appears only as a glitch in Pokemon Red and Blue, and as an event in LeafGreen, FireRed, Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald.)
