Description
I used to do a lot more cartoony stuff than I do now, and yesterday, I wanted to see if I could still do it, so I tried my hand at these two characters from one of my favorite movies.

This was a lot harder than it probably looks. Everyone who knows anything knows cartoony stuff is a lot more difficult to draw than most people think, and I was faced with the added problem that I these aren't my own characters, so you automatically fall into the style of the reference material you're working from. I still think Jessica's too close to the original piece I used as reference, but I guess the overall image is original what with Roger dressed up as a hardboiled detective and the brownish color scheme and all.

The final version is the one in the middle, I decided to include the linework and the unaltered basic version. Yeah, I really colored the whole thing straight before I fiddled with the colors to give it that film noir feel, although I'd planned to do that all along... it was actually easier to do it that way.

So yeah, this is pretty different from my usual stuff... let me know what you think. I love these characters, and I hope I did them justice.
