Description Note: These models were made specifically for the game Morrowind.

This is a collection of some of my many models I've made for Morrowind. They're mostly not in chronological order.

1. This is my first model that was good enough for Morrowind. It's where I figured out UV mapping. (The dark outline is due to a bad copy/paste job.) I was going to make it a throwing weapon, but I messed up during exporting. I could redo it, but I'm too lazy for that.

2. I think this is my second model. I made this after catching a few glimpses of a Naruto cartoon.

3. This was my first attempt at making a sword used by my fancharacter. It appears as a bright purple outline of a blade around a deep purple core. I messed up, though, because I didn't know the right options to mess with in Blender at the time.

4. Just a spear I made, following the same design concept as the sword. A bit lazy, however.

5. I finally figured out a decent way of making the sword look the way I wanted it to, plus something to make the blade glow in the dark. I also fixed up the pommel.

6. This model doesn't seem like much, but it helped me figure out how to do a trick I had seen in Wind Waker. By making an "inside-out" shape around an original shape, you can have what seems to be a constant outline, and a interesting art style.

7. Another unimpressive looking model, but this one was where I figured out a transparent effect that would carry over to Morrowind.

8. I was trying to recreate a staff I saw on a DS game I had, and decided to make fire and ice staves as well.

9. This is both a recreation and a "made-from-scratch" model, because I was trying to remake a Phantasy Star Universe sword, but realized that I wasn't that good yet, so I just went with the flow. The hilt rotates.

10. This is a recreation of the halberd used by the LX form from Megaman ZX.

11. Okay, this one is obvious. It's the Z Sabre from around Megaman Zero 4.

12. This is my favorite model, and one I spent a LONG time on. The Triforce symbol on the blade is fully 3D. In fact, I didn't use a single texture on this one.

13. An attempt at a Shine Sprite.

14. Inspired by a Morrowind Rupee mod, I wanted to create my own replacement for the gold models used in the game, so I decided to use Mario Sunshine coins. Sadly, there were only three types, so I just made my own. The design on the green coin was inspired by Katamari Damacy.

15. Okay, so it's a recolored copy of an earlier model, but this model was where I first discovered the principle of keyframes, and animation.

16. My second favorite recreation. Also without using textures. There's no chain, because I couldn't code one into Morrowind.

Comments and constructive criticism always welcome.

I didn't really keep track. I looked at a tutorial once, to figure out UV mapping, but then I figured out the rest as I went, a lot of it through various error messages that popped up as I tried to export to .nif format.

There's a whole lot of little things you need to keep in mind as you use Blender, like the fact that you use the RIGHT mouse button to select things, and you use Shift instead of Control as you click to select more than one. And if you're making stuff for Morrowind, all textures have to have dimensions that are a multiple of 2 (128, 256, 512, etc.), and they can only be BMP, TGA or DDS (Blender can't display DDS files as far as I know). And always make sure the whole model is selected, otherwise, you might end up only exporting the handle of a sword.

Blender. It can't do everything Morrowind related, but it does enough. And it's free.
