Ah, well, not that cool, I guess. But likeable anyway. In the very beginning when he was first introduced at least.
But hey, what do I know. I don't even follow Naruto anymore. >.>

In the very beginning, yes, I also liked him. It was interesting to see some genin other than Konoha12, someone who didnt success at first try, and still knew so much about the others and the exam itself. It was cool that a "failure genin" showed that lot of knowledge!
But then, he revealed himself as Orochimaru´s spy, all the pieces clicked in place, and Kabuto already wasnt half the interesting to me. Really, while reading his past in those late chapters, I was yawning the whole time :yawning: I didnt see the need at all.

Yeah, that was when I liked him. Actually, the way your describing your reaction to Kabuto as he went along was sort of how I ended up feeling about the whole show. All the characters just got...dull for me. The plot did, too. An excellent example is Itachi, who I was fascinated with at first, but then I realized that he somehow had a magical jutsu to pull out of his butt for pretty much any situation that he COULD have used sooner but Kishimoto didn't need it at the time...
It got really ridiculous. Half the stuff he throws at you is either predictable, unneccessary, boring, or just makes no sense. It really sucks because the anime had so much heart in the beginning...

Yes, I agree. I think there is a stop for how many nonsenses you can resist before you say "Ok, this is it", not matter how good the serie was at first. Since some time now, I´m reading the manga just to know how the hell it will finally end, but the true interest... that I lost it for a while.
The fact that Tobi actually was *you know who* (trying not to spoiler other readers) was a huge BUM to me. I was so disappointed! And that´s pretty sad, because time ago, around when Tobi first appeared, I was sure he was "that person" and begged for it to be true. But as the story went on and more details and clues were added, that seemed so imposible and better fit for another Uchiha who everybody thought dead, that when the truth was revealed I couldnt accept it (I still cant, I´m in denial right now
). I walked from a supporter of that theory to a... uh... denyer?
p.s. I know that word doesnt exist

Exactly! I really tried very hard to overlook some of the problems, mostly because my sister and I had gotten into the series together and we wanted to see it through to the end. However, that plot twist with Tobi...was so incredibly stupid that I flipped a table and said screw it. It's almost like Kishimoto has no idea where he's trying to go with the series and just pulls things out of thin air. It's really sad to me because the series COULD have been amazing; there were just a lot of things that honestly were not thought through. That particular plot twist was the worst example. It killed my sisters intense loyalty to the show for good and cemented my own disappointment with it. I wish I could still like it because it seems he's FINALLY getting some necessary things done, but he's doing it in such ridiculous ways that I just can't take it serious anymore.
P.S. Non-existent words are awesomical.

You think "almost"? Because I´m pretty sure! Masashi-sama doing hundreds of one-shot-characters-that-nobody-will-remember, and leaving aside other characters who actually can give some interesting (even if not needed) back-story? I admit I´m not an artist, so maybe I could be totally wrong, but that has to mean something... like "I dont know how to continue this story, so I´ll just fill pages and pages with useless stuff until I get some good idea back. And that will take some time..." All said with due respect, but that´s the impression it´s giving me for a looooong while now.
Oh, another thing that got me dumbfounded was the last trick Sasuke had up his sleeve C´mon, this manga has lost its path for the "happy-end" long ago... or not? I really hope this is something else.
p.s. Right, thanks!

No, I don't think "almost," I just say that so those who are still fans will not come give me a sound bashing for stating it as a fact. I completely agree with you on all your points. There are way too many "last tricks up the sleeve" in this show that it's become a cop-out and the characters...is it just me or does Kishimoto copy and paste several of his own characters in more watered-down, less interesting versions? I swear, there are so many repeat characters, and the cast of his show is just too ridiculously large, even for how long it is! Even with all this time, he doesn't have enough time to properly develop each of his characters, and fills a lot of pages with useless characters, backstories, and even recap flashbacks. =_= If nothing else, he'd better at least deliver a really good ending, or this show is just going to die out as a show that once had potential, but lived too long and died tragically.

No, and let me tell you why.
Anime characters inherently pay attention to bishonen looking angsty dark haired guys. The more hateful, mentally fucked up, the more attractive. That is, as long they are not monstrous in appearance. Sasuke Uchiha f#cking scares sensor ninja with the evilness his chakra feels like. Nuff said.
