Description
I love working and experimenting with colours and the Dame Doodle piece is an excellent piece to work with. Rather then to flood my gallery with these experiments, I bunged them all together and submitted the loose pieces to my scrapbook.Nr. 1, Dame Doodle Blue, was the piece where I had to think which part to give which colour. With nr. 2, Dame Doodle Red, I simply had to replace the colours by selecting and filling per colour.
With nr. 3 [link] I did the same but created 2 different colour layers, selecting and deleting certains blocks of the top layer to reveal the bottom layer until I felt there was a balance. Nr. 4 [link] , 5 [link] and 6 [link] are variations of this.
Nr. 7 [link] also started with 2 layers, but in this case I deleted the background of the top layer to make the female figure stand out. Nr. 8 [link] , 9 [link] and 10 [link] are variations of this, with 10 having a few edited parts.
Nr. 11 [link] is also a variation of nr. 7, but here I used shades of one colour. With saturation I turned the icy blue an olive green to create nr. 12 [link] which I then treated with colour balance to create the rusty red nr. 13 [link] .
Nr. 14 [link] was the first one I completely recoloured, this time to create a different contrast effect (using white, 10% grey, 20% grey, etc.). Nr. 15 [link] and 16 [link] are variations of this (replacing the light greys for 1 colour and the darker greys for a second).
And the last link, the cleaned up version of the inkwork, in case you had enough of all the colours
I like all versions (or I wouldn't have put them up), but my personal favorites are nr.9 (especially the warm grey with soft brown of the background) and nr. 14 where the different contrast gives an almost fairy-like feeling.

I'm gonna submit a few to print. Any suggesions? I reckon I should, next to Red and Blue, go at least for the greyscale one

Definately the greyscale, yes. And I really like numbers 8 and 16.

Eeeh, so nice to see this! I like how you play with colors, but I must say the black-n-white version has the best contrast balance. I like variation 15 best on that (16 is too dark on the chin I think), beautiful colors. Lovely!

Thanks. Told ya you'd find one more pleasing to your eyes
It's funny what a difference in contrast can do. The original blue and red versions do like good from a psychedelic point of view (in fact I've seen pieces even louder), but it was good to try something different. Just the soft gradiant in the face with the darker eyes gives it a whole new look and feeling.
I love that I could do that with just one drawing, It's been a real creative and good process
