Description
Most of the (dragon) pendants I make are on the large side (though it depends on what you'd call large, they're still wearable) and not everybody likes that so I decided to try my hand at something smaller. I bought these base pendants, all metal, so perfect for polymer clay, and they are indeed small. I measured the round one (minus the loop) and it's about 2½cm or 1 inch (or the near exact size of a 2 euro coin).

I first made the square one, using the leftover aqua clay from my gecko wall piece [link] and an African turquoise bead for a shell, as the turtle was too tiny to give an elaborate clay shell (and this is just as nice). Once baked I filled the pendant with Magic Gloss, a ready to use resin that hardens in UV-light (5 minutes outside in the sun was all it took) and gives a glass-like finish (or in this case fake water for the turtle to swim in, that's why I didn't get rid of the bubbles).

The rectangular one I made of leftovers from the curious dragon wall piece [link] found I had a Swarovski pointed back rhinestone in the right colour and added an ladybug for contrast. The design is so simple but it really is my favorite.

The round one I made of leftovers of the little fish I did [link] plus a pearl and 2 seed beads. This one I also filled with the Magic Gloss so those beads ain't going nowhere

While I like the green one the most in terms of design and colour, the other 2 base pendant are better to work with. They have a raised rim so you can fill them up with the Magic Gloss and really make it sturdy.
I really liked doing them and I think people will like them cause they're just as cute but more modest. So I'm definitely gonna buy more of these bases and try out more stuff.
