Description Addition to my Tirn Aill Scenes Series; everyday situations of random characters in their enviroment, inked with black, sepia and/or sanguine inkpens and fully coloured with markers.

I'm really chuffed with this one. The rich colours alone make me want to look at it constantly (the original that is, scans don't do the marker drawings enough justice I find). Plus I restyled my fishpeople of Tirfo Thuinn (land beneath the waves). The original sketches stem from the late '90s and were much more cartoony (the heads) and human at the same time (they had waists and such). They look a lot better now in my opinion, more logical.

Lovely colours indeed!
The headfin immediately makes me think of them communicating their feelings with it, kinda like a dog uses his ears to convey bodylanguage. Don't know if that's what you're planning, but maybe it's an idea?

I was thinking more along the lines of telepathy, the headfin just being a replacement of headhair

I get the telepathy, but nobody communicates without body language, right? As an addition to the telepathy, I mean

Well yeah, obviously they'll have a body language. I'm actually thinking about some type of colour changing as well, like the men getting all flashy (and perhaps do a little dance) to show off in front of the ladies just like a lot of fish species do
But the headfin I don't want to give any significance apart from looking cool while it sways in the current

They're gorgeous aren't they, those colours! I'm thinking about framing this one and hanging it somewhere in my room, it just cheers me up

I think the fishpeople (gotta find me a name for them) look more original like this too. Most people (myself included) do tend to make anthropomorphic creatures very human in terms of anatomy and/or behaviour. I'm beginning to find I want to veer away from that, not just for the logic but for the interest as well. Thinking a bit more outside the box and such. It pays off
