Description Honey Hiveway is the first course in the Star Cup. It takes place within a large beehive. There are 3 laps.

The course starts in a passageway which shortly opens into a larger area to the right. The roadway is paved in a honeycomb pattern. There is. A lot of off-road in this next area which can be cut through with a speed boosting item as a shortcut. The off-road in most sections consists of a slow-moving glacier of honey. There are small spills of fully made honey on the ground which can cause racers to spin out, but they are mostly out of the way.

When the off-road in this section ends, the cavern opens up into a room with a higher ceiling. There are waterfalls of thick honey coming from all sides, which create a congealed river of honey, which drains over a ledge to the right into a much larger room.

The course in this room and the upcoming rooms have no railings, but all corners are sharply banked to prevent racers from falling off too easily. The first banked turn can be used to cut through one of the honeyfalls as a shortcut to reach the next room sooner. Although the honey is thick, so players will be brought to a halt if they’re not using a star item, which makes them invincible to the honey slowing them down.

After the first chamber of honey river, the road banks in front of another flowing honeyfall before a downhill section suspended above another honey river. There is a trick ramp on the left side. The end of this hill is where the earlier star shortcut ends. At the end of this section, the river drains into a tunnel first instead of immediately falling into the large chamber.

The next suspended river section empties into the large chamber seen at a glance earlier. Honey comes into this larger river from many sources. There are a few holes in the top of this room which let in beams of natural light. Protruding from the walls of this room are small bee houses which look like mini-beehives with windows and doors. This room is bustling with a lot of air traffic, although the bees steer clear of the racers. Further down the river are more bee buildings.

After gliding across the river to a hexagonal platform, racers head through a well-adorned archway and through a short tunnel until they reach the Queen’s chamber. The Queen sits on a platform in the center of the room. Congealed honey falls from honeycombs above to either side of her platform. Racers can head either left or right here. Either way, they end up in an antigravity section, sticking to honeycombs on the walls before returning to normal gravity and exiting the room. Alternatively, racers with a speed-boosting item can get extra airtime off of the initial ramp (upon entering the room) and reach the Queen’s platform in the center before rejoining the other racers.

The road takes a sharp left turn into a smaller room with a much lower ceiling. There is a boost panel which forces racers to cut through the sticky off-road. The course crosses another hexagonal platform before returning to functional honeycomb in another antigravity section. Racers climb a hill before proceeding at a sharp angle (the road is slanted and racers are nearly horizontal). This section crosses over the Queen’s chamber and uses more boost pads to lead racers through the sweet sap. At the end of this room, the course returns to the finish line.
