Description
Every Mario Kart game has a Mario Circuit course. And here’s the one for this hypothetical game! The course takes place in a lightly forested, secluded hilly region. This is the first course of the Flower Cup and has 3 laps. The course starts in a small area in front of a traditional pipe tunnel. The finish line flag is raised up by two flagpoles on opposite sides of the roadway. After the race begins, racers will enter the pipe tunnel and begin a left turn, and are able to race slightly up the sides of the pipe as in 3DS Mario Circuit or N64 Mario Raceway. Additionally, upon exiting the tunnel, racers can gain a trick boost off the edges.
Speaking of which, when exiting the tunnel, racers get a picture perfect view of Princess Peach’s castle from Super Mario 64. To get to the front, they must drive through the path through the front yard. Racers with a speed boosting item can skip this turn by driving through the grass, although they would have to watch out for trees.
After crossing the moat via bridge, racers will enter the castle briefly. They will race and turn left through the traditional Peach’s Castle foyer, bypassing the various Toads of the castle, cheering. The racers head up a flight of stairs and reach a slight bend before exiting the building across a raised, fenced bridge.
This path moves straight forward, through the hills surrounding the castle. Off to the right, players can see the waterfall feeding the moat, which fans would know also holds the secret to Metal Mario.
After heading through the hillside, there is a large gap in elevation, where racers will trick off the higher ledge from. There is a chain chomp enemy off to the left of the raceway which will lunge averse taking the turn tight. In this forested glade, there are brick blocks and question blocks from retro Mario games sitting in the hills. One of these can be used as a shortcut, but has to be reached through the grass off-road.
The next pair of turns banks alongside the hills in the forest, the second of these more so. This second turn is set beneath a large cherry tree. This actually marks the highest point of this part of the course. This turn twists into a gliding section. The road beneath the section isn’t very far below, however. On the road, there are towers of goombas, which move slowly back and forth across the road.
The final two turns of the course are upon the racers now. The first one overlooks the castle garden, through a thin veil of trees, before the track heads more sharply downhill. At the end of this, racers can boost between the trees to the finish line. The second one comes shortly after and ends almost immediately with a speedy trick ramp.
