The young ranger had been walking through the forest for a few hours now and it was getting dark. She was relieved to see a faint blue light in the distance, right next to the path. It was odd, but there was no choice but to approach it and see if it's a lonely inn or perhaps some angry wizards having a spontaneous duel.

To her disappointment, there was no inn or any other buildings in sight. The source of the light turned out to be a couple of torches burning with a cold magical flame. They marked the entrance to a large clearing, crowded with pale men whose appearance would make a hungry vampire seem hug-worthy. Some of them wore strange felt hats with wide brims, others had beards growing only out of their necks. They were busy talking and exchanging nudges and winks.

The girl approached with caution and crouched in the bushes. She had heard of such gatherings before, and knew that women were looked down upon by these outcasts.

A man standing in the middle was conjuring something from a pile of human remains and doll parts. At first it appeared like he was raising a skeleton, but then flesh started to slowly form around the frail bone structure. Soon enough his creation looked almost like a human female. Almost. To the ranger's disgust, the creature had no eyes, but soulless, photorealistic paper cutouts in their place. It had no jaw or chin, most likely because these face parts were perceived too masculine by men who had never seen a female before. Two growths on its chest began to inflate tumorously to gargantuan size. They appeared hard as rocks, and just as heavy. The gruesome construct finally fell to its knees, its enormous, swollen lips barely moved as it whispered: "Kill me."

A particularly skinny fellow with dark grey eyebags and crusty stains on his pants smiled and patted the mad conjurer's back. The ranger could not take it anymore. Without thinking twice, she took out her bow, raised from her hiding spot and put the creature out of its misery.

Running faster than she ever had in her life, she could still hear the skinny man's screechy voice echoing in her head: "Nice work! Make some loli characters too please!"

As he finished his story, Cicero loomed over Braith, staring deep into her eyes, his teeth razor sharp, fingers twirling and slowly getting too close for her comfort. The child tried to stand still. After all, she was the one who informed him she was the bravest white Redguard in Whiterun. Nothing could possibly frighten her. Nothing...

-AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! MOMMYYYY!!!!
The jester stood straight with pride, watching the girl flail her arms and bump into every single person in the street as she fled in terror. Soon, a guard would come to ask questions. But Cicero waited. He knew he was being watched by his beautiful vampire friend. She had been leaning against the wall of Belethor's shop, watching the scene for some time now.
-Wow, you scared a little kid. Congratulations.
Cicero turned to face her. He didn't care about the sarcastic remark. Serana tried her best to hide the smirk of amusement. But even her yawn was obviously fake. He bowed to amuse her further, touching his toes with his hat.
-Thank you, thank you! Cicero will be here all night!
-Or not. - Serana said, pointing at a confused guard who was trying to find the cause of Braith's screams. There was nothing left to do but take refuge in Breezehome. The two jesters strolled away arm in arm, looking as innocent as they could.
