Oh really? I haven't really notice that, (I think it's because how I live most away from people,) I know some here on deviantART are, and I could show you them. Also if you look up a lot of Japanese Megaman X sites, almost all of them are made by girls, oddly, although their mostly fond-of-Yaoi-girls, and a lot of their fanart is X & Zero making out, personally I don't roll that way... but I have nothing against them.
But anyways, I took no offense from you, of course.

his helmet hmm is it the perspective you have isues with or just the basic design of it. As in perspective I mean like at an angle or so. Or the size?
I think what I can do for you is probably sketch it step by step and send you jpegs showing my way of doing it.
You see the frame helps me out alot it shows me where the crystal and ear parts go and ofcourse I draw in (lightly) eyes so I can then put the helmet which covers them slightly

Dude, I *totally* agree. The ball of energy is where my eye first went, and I was like, "that is amazing/gorgeous." ^__^ Great work with the shading and highlights being just right on the energy ball, and the shines around it look really cool as well.
I think your background looks really nice: the simple, straight lines cutting diagonally in different directions (and horizontally) adds just the nicest subtle touch to this shaded blue background.
Oh and because I have not mentioned it yet, I love your signature, lol. Fantastic style. But of course, the " : P " face just makes it priceless. ^^
