This is my first try with the Truchet plugin.
It is also the longest render I've done till now, having rendered for 8 h 50 minutes. I don't have the patience for long renders, especially since I can hardly do something else with my laptop while it's rendering.Original size 800x1200

When I saw this in thumbnail view, my reaction was "Whoa, awesome!" However, upon looking at it large, I think the render quality could be better. Don't get me wrong--it's an awesome fractal. But I wish it were more anti-aliased. Some of the lines look a little weird and jagged, especially in the white spots near the center.
Now, I am not an expert on Apophysis render settings, but I *think* that if you had a slightly higher filter radius, the edges would be so sloppy looking. Alternatively, you could render it larger and then size it down in photoshop or GIMP or something. That would *definitely* solve the anti-aliasing issue. Of course, it would be an even *longer* render, but I think it would be worth it to really show this fractal off in a polished, professional way.
Because really, this fractal deserves the highest quality render you can give it. I *love* the mix of colors and forms, and the only think getting in the way of enjoyment is the technical issue of render settings... everything else is superb.

Yes, those jagged lines are bothering me since I first saw it rendered. I think I'll try different filter radius' settings, even if I doubt that will allow me to get rid of those edges AND maintain the sharp lines I want for the rest of it.
But maybe I'll manage to render it at a higher resolution. The long render was given also to some problems I was having with my computer fan, which are now solved. Plus, in the meantime the creator of one of the plugins I used, and which was pretty slow, has uploaded a slightly less slow version of it.
So, I should be able to render it at a double size in pretty much the same time, or so.

Ahh, this makes my head hurt, haha. It looks awesome, fantastic job. I think it just does something like where it makes my epilepsy want to make me pass out, how crazy is that!?!
Congrats on the DD, it's well deserved. I could never, ever sit through that long of a render, I'd go so crazy!
