[Full-view please!]Really laaaaaaate holiday giftart for my buddy of her sion characters. o3o The Nailangel on the left, Tower on the right.
Oh man, this was rediculously fun to draw and color, even if it took me a long time to get it done. XD;; *started in December* I'm REALLY pleased, first of all, with how the city came out; I'm not used to drawing backgrounds much, so I think it turned out very nicely. 8DD Plus, I figured out a way of coloring buildings that gives them more texture than I used to, and I think it looks a lot better. *nod*
Tower and the Nailangel are both so cool. 8DD *been wanting to draw them properly for a while* Annnd, especially getting to do all the little details, and... hm. The wings especially. *SO HAPPY with how the Nailangel's turned out, yay!* It's the first time I've ever really tried shading rust and bloodstains like that, and I think that also turned out very well. *very pleased* Plus, I figured out how to play with brush-settings, so I could get a neat spatter-brush without needing to use some premade brush for the blood on the Nailangel's coat and wings. 8DDD
Lalala, please ignore the fact that the top edge is crooked, because I fail at rulers sometimes, but that's alright. XDD Oh! *also had fun randomly putting in Ahveph landmarks in the background, there*

The rust on the Nailangel's wings looks great! As do those rust-eaten, middle layer of 'feathers'...! I also like the shading on their hair apparently...! The blood splatters turned out well, I think! The whole thing turned out well, in fact! o_O
Those chain bits of Clocktower's wings are quite stare-worthy as well...! I always get impatient with chains. Anyway! Yes! I keep staring at this! Especially the Nailangel's wings, ohyes.

(and sorry my response is kind of late! ;3;) Even though it was a long time ago when I did this, I still remember having fun on all the details- especially the rust and splatters! ;D Chains do take a good deal of time to draw, but I can't seem to help myself. XDD *still actually really likes this piece, even despite how old it is, so is glad other people do too!* ...MAN, THE SIONS ARE AWESOME. ಠ_ಠ

Dude, Matt, this is awesome! I'm something of a sucker for wings, and the Nailangel's rusty gear wings came out really, really well.
Quick suggestion for something that might look good to avoid the one odd edge- make the bottom edge slant parallel to it? Maybe even exaggerate it a little for a more nonstandard parallelogram? (Or it would be pretty easy to fix in photoshop just with judicious use of the smudge or clone tool, but I bet you already know that.)

And ooh, that is a good suggestion! It'd be neat to see a picture done with that nontraditional parallelogram slant. Unfortunately, I inked this on real paper, so the ink is kinda permanent. XD;; Can't quite fix that. I bet I could fix it up in Photoshop itself, but, seeing as it's already done, and not that noticeable... eh, I'm fine enough with it. Just need to pay more attention with my ruler in the future. X3 Thanks for the idea, though!

I think i like the filtered version a bit more, but either way i think the drawing is great. Especially all the details like the rust and bloodstains <3 must've taken you forever to get this all colored o____o

Yeah, in some regards I kinda do, too. It's just got a lot more tones to it, and kinda more atmosphere? But, at the same time... you can see all the detail better in this one, since the filter tends to obscure some of that. o_o But anyway! Thank you very much, oh man, I had so much fun with it. 8D It did take me a while, but that was mostly because I was being scatter-brained. *colored parts at a time, which helped make it easier to concentrate*
