Description
Fishing can be hard for a mermaid. Gytha the spinner dolphin mer watched performers on a boardwalk until she realized they were busking. She didn't really have any use for that money stuff, but she could always use food! She practiced and practiced until her dolphin half was as limber and flexible as her human half, then hoisted herself onto the pier and began to perform.
Apparently no one told her that, being a mer, she could have just sat there and let people take pictures with her, but she seems to be enjoying herself.
I had fun with the sign; I wanted to make it look like it was done by someone who didn't really know how to write. Or read, for that matter. It looks like she had some English letters and a book of Norse runes and just picked out characters she liked the look of.
I did the lines with the design tool for this and . . . . I dunno; it almost looks too clean. I liked the organic look of the lines from photoshop. I can't afford the new CS5, though.

A very daring concept and a successful rendition. I'd figure a more rigid fin. I think I'd offer in-harbor salvage of dropped items, if I were a dockside mer.
