It's been ages since I last drew Gilbert. AGES! And he is to AWESOME to be neglected like that! *bows in apologies*1. Germany is angsty because the Weimar Republic was an epic fail. The government changed a few times a year, people didn't know how deal with the country and the enormous sums they had to pay to France and Belgium. It even let a certain Austrian become Dictator in a legal way O.o

For the second one, I think the Allies dissolved him because they saw him as a threat. I mean, while he was a kingdom, he managed to grow exponentially despite having no advantage over anyone.
One could argue, too, that he might have died in 1866, in the first German Unification. He still existed as a largely independent state, or something along those lines, but the him and the German Empire slowly sort of dissolved into each other from that point onwards. (By the 1900s, the non-Prussian part of Germany was more excited about Prussia than the Prussians themselves were. xD)
