I'm still fond of the idea that it's Myra's influence over everything that caused Shadow's feelings to change so drastically.

and i was thinking about it, maybe ursula knew that would happen if he didn't kill myra asap. so she told him, "make us right" in hopes of making him remember her, in hopes of having something to cling to, to remember WHY he had to kill myra

But, in the end, Shadow's will wasn't enough to overpower Myra's desire to exist, because he has no real power over anything - not like Myra and Ursula do, anyhow. In that light, since perhaps Ursula knows it's not truly Shadow's fault, I can see her killing him being more of a, "BITCH, YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM!!" towards Myra than anything else.
YOU'RE WELCOME!! It's a big nostalgia trip for me and it's pretty fun.

i think she's too hurt and angry and prideful to admit it wasn't shadow's fault. she warned him repeatedly that myra was evil and shadow didn't listen. i don't think she cares if it was shadow's fault or not, his attitude toward her still sucked
