After you have made your image, are you saving the file or exporting it?
To get a file you can upload to websites, png, jpg/jpeg for example, you have to export it.
To do that, just do this.
1: Click on file, select export(not export to).
2: A new, smaller window should have opened and at the top you can name your image and choose what you want to save it as. png is one of the highest qualities you can save as.
3: You can either select from a drop down list or just type the file extension you want to save as. For example Image.png, and when you have done that, click on the export button and a smaller window will pop up.
4: I have not messed with the options on mine at this window, so I leave it default and click the export button here and it will save the file as whatever you chose earlier. Again, I recommend .png or .jpg
Always take notice of where you are saving your image to, otherwise you might end up how I did for a couple of days and go hunting on your computer to find it.

I have gimp
Used it to make the before adn after image for my leather mp3 pouch, but i had issues on how to write the text
