Description
I will use deviantART as an example, as I feel it will be the most common ground for people who view this stamp.I cannot stand those people, who run around in this deviantART Community, and constantly go on about the bad. This feature doesn't work, that hasn't been implemented, yadda yadda yadda.
But I also cannot stand those who run around, only promoting the good in the site, turning a blind eye to anything bad.
The site has errors, things don't work right, some stuff isn't implemented fully, and it doesn't work quite as it should, yes. But that shouldn't be ignored, and especially shouldn't be replaced with senseless praise, that only goes on about the good and simply ignores anything bad.
Do I hate this website? Do I hate this community? It seems some people think that. The answer is no.
I love deviantART.
So if I love this community and this website, why do I bitch about what's going wrong with it? Because I actually give a damn. I do what I can to spread cheer and joy, through gifting Premium Memberships, giving random features of deviants, and bringing you the Groups that I bring you, and the support that I give, both to friends and to strangers. But I'm not about to disregard what's wrong with the site, and what makes it bad.
I feel that through a good understanding of both the good and bad, not just of deviantART, but of anything, and accepting both, is true understanding.
To those of you who got butthurt with me, and went on a tirade about how I was wrong and how amazing the site is, while ignoring the fact that it has errors, fuck you. You don't love deviantART. If you can't accept the errors, and what's wrong with it, then you have no idea.
And to those of you who only spread hate, and blatently ignore the amazingness of this website, and the hard work that the Staff, Volunteers, and everyone in the Community put into it, fuck you. You have no business here.

About time I finally come across this great stamp! I've been wondering if there was ever such a a stamp somewhere on dA. You are simply spectacular!

Agreed. I saw your other stamp, and I know exactly what you're talking about. Some of the admin(s) I don't remember was turning a blind eye to the errors to the site, making it out to be good things. All the people I've seen were basically going "rah rah DA has never done anything wrong, there are no errors you don't understand shite cause x y and z!" There ARE mistakes that DA makes, why can't they own up to most of them?
I love DA, I enjoy the site greatly, it has so much good, but it has the bad too. They certainly cannot be perfect, but they definitely need to accept their faults too, it's like an artist who can't take critique. Not all admins are like that, but I've seen a handful licking the balls of DA as if it could make no mistakes.

"I feel that through a good understanding of both the good and bad, not just of deviantART, but of anything, and accepting both, is true understanding."
Oh god... amazing words. It's exactly the kind of thing I've been working on in a sort of... offline project of mine. When I try to explain the concept to people, I say things like "The good guys went..." or "The bad guys did...", when really, it's much more complex than that. The "good" guys are just the good guys because it is them telling the story, when really, to the "bad" guys, the role is reversed. The bad guys are considered bad because they want to wipe out an entire species, which you could argue is good because this species is destroying the planet. But the good guys could also be considered bad because they lie, cheat, and manipulate the creatures they are trying so hard to protect.
It pains me to use such stupid terms as "good" and "bad", but when explaining to people I don't have time to explain the virtues and setbacks of each unique character, as well as the complex relationships each side has with the other. Each of them is a wonderful, but fictional, person. When you have to focus on just one side of them, they could seem like a much different person than they really are. And it bugs me a lot to have to do that.
Thanks for the wonderful words ^^

I agree about complex characters. A character might be "good" but have some "bad" qualities and vice versa. I've seen quite a few "bad guys" who have good in them (I think of Count Bleck in Super Paper Mario because I'm a nerd)

Oh yeah, I remember Bleck. Man, I haven't played that game in years...
When I read a story the first thing that pops out at me are the characters, and sometimes I will even spend weeks analyzing them in my head. And what I can't stand more than anything, is a terribly thought out character. I re-read a book I used to love when I was 11 today, and the biggest thing that bothered me was a character who seemed to pop out of nowhere, fill some plot holes, and was declared one of the four main characters, when you knew almost nothing about him. I also hate Mary-Sues, or their evil opposites, who are evil for the sake of being evil >.<
It can kinda suck being a teenager who actually cares about breaking down and analyzing a book. It's almost as if I'm reading the same book over and over again with different characters and a very slightly different plot. "Twilight was successful, so let's do something like it." "Sure, but what kind of twist will you put in it to make it different?" "Nobody cares about that! Let's just re-write it with demon hunters, the kids will love it!"

Haha, exactly.
I've gone back on some books and games and movies, and it's like "What is this?!" That is why I've been really enjoying the Nostalgia Critic, since he does exactly that xD

Nostalgia Critic?
Exactly. If there's one thing I've found people care about more than they realize, it's what they used to watch or read when they were younger. I took a car trip with some friends a couple months ago, and 50% of the time was spent talking about shows we watched as little kids xD I used to love The Land Before Time movies, but I felt like I had outgrown them. Then I found someone on DeviantART who still liked them, so I thought "If she can like them, why can't I?" So I rented the first one, and I could barely watch to the end because it was so stupid >.<

Nostalgia Critic.
Watch and be highly amused
I remember the Land Before Time! The first one was decent. The subsequent sequels sucked, though. I think one of the middle ones were ok though (5 or 6, I can't remember)

Eh, I liked practically anything if it was a cartoon when I was 4 xD No matter what it was about, I just liked the pretty pictures.

Amen!
Just like with people, if you only see the good, then you're still in the "honeymoon" phase. It's when you see their bipolar ADD OCD neurotic grudge-holding irrational PMS-y side but still love them for their wit, humor, and deep kindness masked by trollish dickery that you can call it love.

Indeed.
I dislike it when people pretend an error isn't really an error/is somehow desirable, or blame the person complaining about the error for only thinking it's an error because they're doing something "wrong" or the like, then say they're "trying to support DA".
Well... no. If you support something, you want to see it improve and grow and get better. Which means acknowledging its mistakes. I don't bitch because I hate DA, I bitch because I like DA but get frustrated when things that could make DA so much better don't get fixed, or worse, the admins claim nothing's wrong.
Conversely, the people who do nothing but bitch that DA sucks and they hate it and oh god this error is so bad/intolerable and blah blah blah, yep, equally annoying. If you truly hate DA so much, or a problem is so bad you can't deal with it, then leave. I don't mean that in the insulting sense, but in the sense of "Why spend so much time in a place you hate, anyway?" If I ever came to hate DA that much, I would certainly go.

I agree. There's so many things people complain about or worship without acknowledging anything. I love dA, and while it does screw up and get on my nerves sometimes, I dunno where I'd be without it.
Maybe complaining fills some sort of void.
