Wow this was a detailed one ^^ overall I"m very satisfied with how it came out! This is my entry to the color contest hosted by My first time entering! I hope I did the lines justice!

hahaha yes, banana slug thing. You know, I wasn't sure what the rules were for the contest so I didn't go and get a picture of a texture and put it on there like I normally would have. (hooray stock photography!) It was a challenge I'm glad it came out well.

That is a very interesting perversion of a mermaid. Colouring is wonderful, you've captured both bright sunny forest and mysteriously enchanting caves. Brilliant!

This was my favourite lineart out of the contestants, and I'm giving a shot at colouring it too...buuut I've got a long way to go before I can paint like you xD
In any case, I definitely think you did the lines justice, lovely work!

Oh x_x I forgot to answer your question. The tail isn't a texture actually. I shaded it then used brush set on scatter to add more colors then for the final touch I used the watercolor filter on it. Somehow it comes out looking like that xD just a trick I do. All the brushes used on this are brushes that photoshop came with, so nothing special here xD
