what ones are taken and what ones are still available? How are you keeping track?

It's first come first serve. So I start at the beginning of my comments (the oldest) and if the asked-for ones are available, the commenter gets them. If not, I tell them that one is taken and to choose another if they wish. I do this frequently, to not get overrun, and update it every so often with white-ish X's on top of the taken horses. This means, according to the picture, that #'s 3,4,6 and 11 are available, but someone commented before you asking for #6. So, #'s 3,4, and 11 are the only one's left.
