wow, holy fucking crap, it's a traditional piece from major ka. when's the last time that happened!? like 140 years ago.

some little backgrounds:
this is Terrence in his old digs. thousands of years ago, in another world. he even had a different name. while he was sealed away and sleeping, and his story had all but ended, that name would become synonymous with the species he represents. it would evolve with time and the changing languages and spread with those to other worlds. it arrived on earth sometime in the dawn of antiquity, and survives today in isolated greco-roman occult and a handful of root-latin languages.

like most ascelli in modern settings like present-day earth, he never uses the animal body with human enhancements because it's useless in modernized, populized worlds. cattle and humans are everywhere, and so are anthro, but the whole half'n'half deal would be a big giveaway to HEY, I'M AN EVIL GUY. and when you're the last one of your specific kind, it's best to be smart over bold. sad story, what happened to the rest of them... oh well. another time.

there were no survivng accounts of his face for centuries, until of course the discovery of the western gate idol (which unlike the eastern, depicts him unhelmed) and again after a bumbling old historian dug up his bones. they had a chat about the last several millennia while the guy drew him, sitting around in his squat little house while his kid served them potato biscuits and cold coffee.

TECHNICAL:
watercolors over a sakura fineliner. digitially i tried to be minimal with it... i added my sig, prepared a vector countour of mr. terry to use in the digital version, filtered out some light and color distortion with the scan.

i drew and colored this in 2005.
