Omigod dodge tool on Photoshop is loooove!! 8D(If you can even tell that I shaded some)
The background was a random pick from Google, because I liked it. Aren't I a pretty Pikachu? :3

Yes, you're a very pretty Pikachu. The colors kinda hurt my eyes a mite, though, Sparky. >.o
Oh, by the way, did you see the start for "Project: Ciel"? I'll be adding your side of the Intro tomorrow morning.
I take it you like Yellow, Baby Blue, and Green? I like green well enough...

Aren't they pretty?? 8D
No I didn't! D: Did I miss it?
Blue, green and purple, actually. But with Pikachu being yellow and all... xD If I did purple and green, I'd look toxic.

Verily so... though pretty isn't exactly a term I use often. Haha!
You're definitely on my Watch list... Anyway, I wanna get an idea or two from you about your character's past in "Project: Ciel", so I can go ahead and get that in there. Of course, if you don't want to, that'll be fine, and I'll get something thrown together. ^^ ... Of course, I'll work on it, but methinks I'd prefer it if you did that, eh?
Mmmm... true. Green, purple, and orange are my three favorite colors. They're just so great, y'know? Ahh, I don't mind a toxic look, so long as it fits... which it doesn't, not with you, anyhoo.

Oooh I feel special.
I might have accidentally deleted it from my list while I was sifting through the millions of devations I haven't check out yet. x.x
Another bio? Really? Ergh, I should read your little story thing. Do you have anything in mind for my character?
What is it with people and the color orange?
Exactly. xD So I stayed away from that. I rather love mardi gras colours--GASP!! ~*runs off to doodlepad*~

You should feel special.
Awww... You poor ting. D: Or am I the poor thing...? Hmmm... Ah well. ^^
Ummm... pretty much just that all America's been taken over by the Chinese, and any Americans left over have either fled to Canada (or overseas) or have stayed and are fugitives in their own lands. D: Oh, and you're the leader of a dozen (including yourself) kids. :3 Age, as my last ideas were, was around 14 yourself. Though you can change that, if you'd like. Just no higher than... like... 22. I'm sorta just making this up as I go along for the most part.
With me, I just love the oranges, as in the fruits. :3 And orange is a nice, bright, fun color. <--Proof
Eh? ._. Was it something I said that inspired you to brilliance?

Oh look, I read it finally! 8D Thanks for providing me with some amusement. Quite well-written, actually.
Really??? Sweet business, let's get cracking!
How old is Joshing, then? I guess since he's a captain he would be, like...ancient, compared to Sparky. (For simplicity's sake, I've decided that will be her nickname)
Hmm. Are you going to write the intro for Sparky? I assume I'll be the one coming up with ideas for her, and you'll just incorporate them into your story.
Okay, I really do feel special. xD Only one other person I know has asked me for input in a story that includes a "me" character in it.
Oh yeah, oranges are yummy. The colour really doesn't suit me, though. But I do agree with you. x3
Haven't actually drawn the thing that I was inspired to draw. x.x Actually, it was me talking about mardi gras. I definitely will have to draw that, perhaps for next February.

Really? Thank you kindly. I take it you liked the idea of using Present Tense and Flash Backs, eh?
Sweet business? When was business ever sweet?
Joshing's actually only... 23 years old at this point. Five years from now places me at 23 years o' age. (Aye, I figured you'd suggest that. )
I'll be writing the Intro concerning Sparky, aye. And that's pretty well what I'd figured would occur; you make a variety of ideas and I piece them into the story as best I can.
Really? Well, you should get out into dA's author groups more often. We're always in need of more characters, or usually, at any rate. Haha.
Oranges are awesome, and orange is awesome. We'll agree to disagree, eh? Next February? Are you serious? You won't be getting any better of an artist if you don't draw a whole lot, y'know? :3

Yep! Great way to build a background.
Nyeah. xP
That would still mean he's about 7 or 8 years older than Sparky. And to her, that's ancient.
Haha, neat. Well here's an idea I came up with: Born in Britain, Sparky moved to America when she was about 8 years old, so she's retained her lovely British accent (the one that I want, of course). She began working at kind of a day care place around the age of 12, and when the Chinese started attacking she was going to go back to England with her parents, but she couldn't leave all the kids behind. So now she's in charge of leading them to safety!
That'd be so much fun! 8D Coming up with characters is a bit of a hobby for me. I'm actually writing a couple stories of my own, but I don't feel confident enough to put them on dA.
I guess so. Personally, I prefer lime green. x3
I know that! I meant Mardi Gras is in February, so I'll post my idea then. Of course I'm going to keep drawing! (I put a ninja pikachu on my friend's birthday card yesterday. ^^)

There aren't a lot of terrific ideas like that left in this sun-scorched skull o' mine, but I'm glad that one came through.
Great storyline. My only thought on it is that the Chinese have been on American soil for the past five years when Ciel's "present" is occuring.
How about this, eh?
Background: Sparky is about 8 when moves to America from England; has a British accent
Sparkyβs 12 when she starts working at a daycare place
The Chinese take over America; her parents leave, but Sparky sticks with her friends (most of whom had parents who died early on in the attack)
Sparky watches over the kids for the next five years, with occasional spats with Chinese forces, until meeting Joshing
During this time, she also meets a girl with wings who joins her; though mute, she manages to help Sparky in keeping the other kids safe (named Mack)
Well, needing characters is sorta a hobby for me. Awww, you should at least post one of 'em here at dA. I doubt you'll be hated on for it; we'd like to see something coming out of your account.
I prefer any type of green to not even remotely green.
... Oh.

Ciel is the government's ship we were talking about, right?
I have a feeling I'm going to love this muted flying girl. xD Short for Mackenzie, perhaps? I think that's a pretty name.
Yup, I definitely approve of the direction in which this is going! :3 So, about how many kids are there? Because I suppose it would be easier to take care of them all between Sparky and Mack.
Oh, give me a spot to fill and I will gladly lend my brain. x3
Who's "we"? >< And I know I don't post a lot of stuff. I do plan to upload at least some stuff over the break.

Ciel did at one point belong to the gov't, aye. Now, it belongs to Joshing and company. :3
Mach? Yeaaah! She and her creator are great. I really dunno; but as she was one of the Chinese gov't's test dummies for gene-altering, the word "Mach" is probably a code-name or anagram or something... perhaps she was the prototype for a winged division that would exceed the speed of sound in flight?
I approve, as well. I approve very much, indeed. Actually, I made a mistake. >.< It's Mach with an "h", not a "k"; sorry, Sparky. You can find out more in the Journal I most recently posted. Mmmm, mesa was thinking of about 8-10 kids, y'know?
Anything that you can do to help would be verily helpful. :3 Perhaps you write up the backstory detailing Sparky's escape from the city she was in...? Well, that's good to hear, that you'll be posting things.
I see a plan, though "genius" remains a possibly over-stated adjective. XD (Kidding!)

That just sounds cool. xD I can't wait for Sparky's intro, and indeed the rest of the series. What a slightly deranged, evil government though...
Oh, okay. Well, Mach still sounds pretty neat. Yeah, I looked at that journal entry and I was like "Oh. Right. Sure thing!"
Sparky's definitely going to need backup with about 8-10 kids. Although I love her description. x3
If I get a brainspark, I'll let you know. ^^ What city was she in, anyway?
It kind of does, huh? It's a word I use a lot.

It's good to check.
You're the creator of Sparky, ain'tcha?
Well, don't worry; your intro will be mighty epic. :3 The Chinese gov't is only slightly deranged? That's... not even vaguely true. Though evil is verily so.
Aye, Mach's a really neat gal. [link] is what Mach looks like, along with all her gear. Kids make for great back-up. :3 Really easy to educate in... blowing things up. I think that enough people have submitted the explosive-loving kids. Hahaha! I rather liked Sparky's description as well.
Thanks. Ah, Sparky was in one of the Californian cities, though not one that's well-known nor really humongous or anything. It was one of those mining cities before business died down and such; after that, the people turned to farming, though kept burrowing deeper into the earth. (The mines became a sort of hiding hole for the resistance fighters in the region.)
True... I suppose "Brilliant" isn't a word I use often, though. Hm...

I love her expression.
Yes, there shall be lots of blowing things up, won't there? Funfunfun! I like the fact that you made Sparky a technical nerd. xD I have great fun with geeks. (Well, I'm surrounded by them)
Woah, neat. So I could just make up a name for the city, like Reeves or something? Reeves, California. Haha.

Mach's expression is indeed... something. Once I have a backstory, I'll be sure to inform ye.
Yes, lots and lots of explosions. *nods a few times* But of course; somebody had to be there to build fantastic machines that have seemingly no purpose... well, not considering all the madness going on. (Well, there's one SciFi geek right here. *tips his hat*)
Reeves, California, eh? Well... that works, then. ^^ Aye-aye!
I thought I mentioned that in the Descripts? ... Oh, wait, nope, didn't. Hm. You're more than welcome to do so, Sparky. ^^

Sparky and her dad, you pervet!!
Dude, that's what I call multitasking. But it is a pretty neat idea. The story could be that she founded the Daycare, and Sparky took over when she was old enough. I'm guessing about 12, because that's when I started babysitting. Thank you, sir!

Are you serious? Have you no knowledge of children? Have you never played "Hide and Seek" with a bunch of kids? There's always at least one who picks a spot that winds up working for hours, until the "It" gives up. Sparky's group would be like that one kid amidst the gadzillions of 'em.
I was only asking. I didn't mean it like that, honest. I don't ask things like that unless if I'm HONESTLY unsure. I promise you that much. >.>
Well, you gotta admit... women are really good at multitasking. Far better than men. (Have you ever heard of a man who can watch TV AND listen to his wife?) Mmmmm... I like that idea better than mine, that I do. But the mom would still be the "legal owner" of the Daycare, for legal reasons.
You're welcome, eh. ^^

An Ancient Greek family...?
I would imagine you do, considering your comment about babysitting since 12... and if you're in high school, then that's a good few years of it, eh? Oh, I know a thing or two about jumping over rooftops, including, most of all, the danger involved in it. >.o Wouldn't you be the type to say, "It's too dangerous for all of you to come; stay here!" eh? ... Of course, who are kids to listen, eh? Fufufu, I was the one kid at Kindergarten who would "cheat" by somehow climbing on top of the cabinets or something... and nobody would ever find me. I was the best hider in the world. But also the lamest seeker. >.< How's that work out, eh?
Not quite so much for laughs as for the sheer pursuit of knowledge. ;;
Gazillion? .__. Ummm... That's a few too many, eh? How about... fifty? Fifty sounds plenty... especially for pets. Ooh! And what if one is a rare fox breed your dad developed, hm? Well? Eh?! (Namely, the updated one sitting in my gallery, begging me to use it somewhere. [link] )

Apparently so.
Yep, so I definitely have some practice behind me. I would probably consider the dangers, yes, but with our special group of daycare kids I don't think Sparky will have a problem with letting them frolic on the rooftops. xD Although I would be worried about their safety, yes.
Did you seriously just type "fufufu"?
I find really good places to hide. :3 But with little kids, I'm the biggest of them and therefore easiest to spot. Though I'm pretty good at finding people, too.
And he could be Sparky's special pet!! 8D Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease?? :beg:
But with a gazillion pets, you could build an army to fight the Chinese with. x3 Can you imagine sicking a bunch of squirrels on their troops?

I suppose you're right...
Some practice? You must've had a good three years at least by now. I barely have any experience with little kids. I just know that they're very... mmm... tenacious. "Let's go frolic on the rooftops, crew!" -Sparky. XD And what good leader wouldn't worry about her group's well-being, eh?
Yes. And I actually do that sound effect in real life. XD I'm weird, remember?
So you're more a fifty-fifty type of Hide and Seek player... whereas all my skills were - when I was little - placed into hiding. Now I practically cheat by hiding in areas that were "unofficially" closed off for the game. Hehe.
You mean you approve of the idea? As you wish, then, eh!
"Just as the men said things couldn't get any worse, the rats came." -some famous military commander. Seemed an appropriate quote, eh? Similar idea here, but with squirrels. Aww, those poor soldiers... they're gonna swat themselves to get the furry squirrels off their faces. Fufufu...
Who did what now? .__.;; *totally lost and confused*

You know my character perfectly. xD I can't wait for her intro. And yes, you are extremely weird. Although, I doubt we would be such good friends if you weren't. Most of the people I hang out with aren't exactly what you would call "normal".
Yep, fifty-fifty I guess. I haven't played hide-and-seek in a while. Dang it, now I want to!
Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!
Ahahaha. That's right my fluffy minions! Get them!! >D In all seriousness, though, that would be highly effective. But I guess having that many pets in the first place would get a little out of control.

Oh, you stopped, eh? Why, dare I ask?
She's the eccentric - yet caring - type who would watch over her crew determinedly, eh? Makes sense, I daresay... I'm sorry; these past few days have been real rough on my time restraints. I betcha I got messages from three-four-maybe even five days ago. >.<
:lamo: It's when you've gone a time without something that you begin to yearn for it with renewed vigor.
I can just imagine Sparky staring down some small horde of Chinese... and-and she would yell some heroic speech, followed shortly thereafter by a personal army of fuzzy animals just... appearing. They're everywhere. On the walls, in the windows, all along the streets. The way is shut...
A little out of control? Just a little?

You're welcome, I suppose. Egads, just be glad you don't drive in the same state as I do. ;;; I'm a horrible driver... Though I've yet to get in a wreck (thank God).
Mmmm... I shan't say things against Shrek ('cause my siblings would tackle me out of nowhere).
This is too easy... Get the bunny! *waves the chocolate bunny from side to side*

Bah. There are horrible drivers all over this country. And a lot of them seem to be placed conveniently in the area where I live. Whoot.
The first Shrek was (and still is) one of my favourite Disney movies of all time. xD But the sequels are just...bleh.
Dammit! ~*tries to slap self while pawing at the bunny, and ends up falling over*~

Ahh... I see... >.> That sounds just lovely and peachy and keen... ... I stop at green lights.
I've gotta put some weight behind "Finding Nemo", if only for one reason: . . . . .
The seagulls.
. . . . .
*shakes his head, chuckling* There's a point where I cave. *drops the 2-lb chocolate bunny on you* Enjoy, eh~

Really? xD You nut.
My friends are starting to pass me, though, as far as driving education goes. It's kind of sad.
Awww, Finding Nemo was fun. Though my favourite Disney of all time is El Dorado. I just never tire of watching it.
Yaaaaaaay!! ~*noms on bunny's head*~

Really and truly, I have stopped at more than one green light.
Ahhh... Well, I'm sure you'll catch up, eh.
"Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!" I can actually do that squawk, by the way. "Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!" Favorite Disney characters EVER. The seagulls.
That poor thing... Look at you. You're ripping it ear-from-head you're so vicious to that chocolate rabbit.

Riding in a car with you must be fun. xD
That's hilarious. I can do a vague attempt, but it sounds kinda retarded.
So? It's chocolate. ~*continues nomming*~

It sure is. Especially if you love whiplash. I take those turns a bit too hard, and stop a bit too hard. ... Okay, a lot too hard on the stops.
Not everyone is meant to be a master of the seagull chant. It's a'ight.
... You gonna want milk with that?

I can imagine. x.x
Driving is just scary to me, because no matter what happens, it's your fault if anyone gets hurt.
In fact, probably very few people are meant to be seagull masters. xD
You got some milk? :3

Mmmmm... You might be able to.
Aye... I know that. It's almost undoubtedly my fault if somebody gets in a wreck. >.< Thing is, I'm really aware of my surroundings (always checking my rear-view mirror and whatnot) so I don't always do a shoulder-check or anything like that. Mom freaks out on me 'cause of that, but my step-dad's the same way.
I am one of those few. Yep, yep I do.

I'm pretty good at checking my surroundings, but only because I'm a paranoid freak in the car. >.> I think driving an English car would be a whole lot easier, because I'm just used to the passenger seat point of view.
...
Woah, you're like, a magician or something! 8D

That makes two of us. *raises a fist to the sky* I'm used to just staring at my DS screen as I play a video game, not noticing the surroundings. :3 (Not much for traveling via vehicle.)
You're welcome~
Mmmmm... You might be able to say that. *pulls off his straw hat, and a frog leaps out* It's a toad!

I like staring out the window just because. I'm a weird child. Plus the scenery is really pretty sometimes, like when we make a road trip to wherever. Which doesn't happen a lot.
But...you just said it was a frog. D:

I could stare out the window and admire the marvelous scenery, but that gets boring. I'd rather do something that occupies my mind, which can happen if I'm staring out there... because I'll start to formulate a story. And we all know I have enough of those floating about my skull. >.>
I like to be confusing. :3

I think of stories, too. But then I try to write them and they come out looking like my imagination took a crap on the paper. So I give up.
I noticed. ><

Have you been working on Sparky's intro at all?
π: 0 β©: 1
Joshing3the7Kokiri In reply to Sparkplug223 [2009-07-18 13:39:12 +0000 UTC]
Pft.
I've been working on her intro a wee bit, aye.
The story:
Sparky is walking through the city by herself; she had left early that morning with the simple instructions for her βtribeβ, including the various animals in her group.
Sparky notices a flash grenade that blinds her a moment, even though it was on another street altogether; hears gunfire to the side, and there is a flashback of her home being raided by one of the Chineseβ first landing parties
Several dozen Chinese come up from behind her, screaming and charging; Sparky leaps into a home and bullets upstairs, kicking a barrel down the stairs from the top
Dashes into a room overlooking an alleyway and throws a rock at a trash can; leaps to the adjacent building; her pet fox leaping onto her shoulder between the two structures
Sparky pulls out a glow-stick, checking the room; notices a burned corpse, and silently prays
Sparky and fox press on, without pursuit; as she goes out into the street - cautiously - she is suddenly beset by a group of Chinese
Sparky dashes behind a few old crates, which must have had a lot of metal in them because they shielded her from the bullet fire.
Flames gush out from a nearby alleyway, terrifying the Chinese into fleeing.
Sparky and her fox dash forward once more, meeting up with Gen Ben
Talk a bit, and Gen Ben sends the girl on her way.
Yeesh, I really ought have done some good-to-honest work... >.< Anyways, it's very easily implied that Sparky's in an alleyway adjacent to Joshing's, and that they miss each other at Gen Ben's hide-out by a mere minute or two.
