So, I finally uploaded something in response to Kimberwick and katterboxes ' posts! Yay!

Although Nightwing didn't really know Blackheart and Snowfeather on a personal level, she did care for them and genuinely enjoyed their company (which doesn't occur all that often, Nightwing generally hates others company). So when she found out that they had been killed, she kept her emotions in check in front of her clanmates, but couldn't contain them any longer once she was alone.

She knew that Snowfeather and Blackheart were good cats, and thinks that it's incredibly unfair that they had to die. She's sad, of course, but you never really know how someone like Nightwing choose to express their emotions. She doesn't know how to handle these new emotions, so she turns all of that sadness and grief into anger, and convinces herself that someone has to take the blame for their deaths somehow. That someone must be responsible, that someone has to pay for this injustice.

So the only reasonable thing to do in her mind would be to find their killer. This is just an excuse, but she needs to do this to cope with her feelings. She is currently very angry with StarClan and it makes her feel powerless and insignificant.
