While a teamwork between the guilds and the outcasts is... tense, the squad already having members in the outcasts for quite a while (also because Todd and Amanda revealed their identities with the condition of anonymity and agreements of some protection from those on their faction that would try to harm them specifically) meant they were in a very solid ground to get the job done. However, it wouldn't be done by castanian methods but those that Isabelle, Angela, Pierre and Siegfried were already used to: military.

For the next couple of hours, the squad turned a section of the checkpoint into a well-established small outpost, which included a guard tower, tents, a wooden perimeter, a ditch around it, a storage tents, a makeshift hospital tent and a command tent. For those like Carmenelle, Arsene and Weston, it was way overkill (and for the grimmsnarl, a bit intimidating considering what he "knew" about Siegfried). Amanda in particular found amusing that her "leaders" were reminded again that the zorua didn't play games, not to mention some of his people were active inside the guilds, making sure that things ran smoothly.

And that didn't escape some eyes. For someone like the deerling Arthur, it was impressive that the group in question, without asking for help once, was able to do so much in such a short time. His partner on the other hand, the joltik Pencil, wondered how they were able to build what it looked like a small settlement without someone of the guilds or Outcasts giving them instructions. And lastly, the hoopa Ali stared at the finished work for a solid minute, before face-palming himself, thinking it wouldn've been nice if he offered to help them, because they did a lot and could take a rest for quite more time and not being called of for being lazy.

Regardless of anyone's opinions, Siegfried's base was set up according to the procedures he and those that were in the military knew about, and remained there for a while until more trustworthy people could take their place. Overall, he was pleased to see he didn't have complications with anyone else, as he was left alone most of the time, and finished their task without any kind of "infighting" once. He only wondered if the way out of Castanet would finally reveal itself, with the increasing posibility of flying back to the place he came from to finish the fight he knew was still going on.
