Originally just called Star Wars came out in May 25, 1983, and unlike the first movie George Lucas didn't direct it, he wanted Steven Spielberg to direct it, but because of the budget instead he had Richard Marquand directed it. The title was first called Return of the Jedi, but both Richard Marquand and Lawrence Kasdan told Lucas that Return of the Jedi was "a weak title", and Lucas later decided to name the film Revenge of the Jedi. In December 1982, Lucas decided that "Revenge" was not appropriate as a 'true Jedi should never seek revenge' and returned to his original title of Return of the Jedi.
With a budget of Budget $32.5–42.7 million Star Wars: Return of the Jedi earned $482 million at the Box Office. Counting for inflation the money this film earned was around $815,513,119 worldwide in today's money. (2023)
Note: Normally the breakeven point on movie is three times the budget of the movie. Because movie theater gets around half the profits and the budget doesn't count for the marketing.
